BREAKING: The average price of US ground beef jumped +9% YoY in July, to a record $7.10 per pound.
Ground beef prices have surged +65% since the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, steak prices surged +10% YoY last month, to a record $13.10 per pound, up +70% since December 2019.
As a result, beef sales volumes fell -0.3% YoY over the 13 weeks ending mid-July..
This is a sharp reversal from +5.4% YoY growth during the same period in 2025, and +4.6% YoY growth in 2024.
Americans are reducing beef consumption amid rapidly surging prices.
