The agenda is now finalised for the inaugural Splash Singapore, with some of the biggest names in global shipping set to arrive in the Lion City next month for a full day of market debate, technology discussion and high-level networking. Hundreds of delegates have already signed up.
Splash Singapore takes place on September 24 in the Stamford Ballroom at the five-star Fairmont Singapore. Building on eight editions of the Maritime CEO Forum Singapore, the event brings together shipowners, charterers, managers, technology leaders and investors from across the maritime spectrum. The choice of venue underlines Singapore's role as one of the world's leading maritime centres: the city-state is consistently ranked among the busiest ports globally by vessel arrival tonnage and serves as home to major ship management, bunkering and maritime technology clusters.
The conference retains Splash's established events formula: no presentations, no slides and no selling, with every session built around unscripted debate between senior industry figures.
Proceedings open with The Big Issues, a scene-setting session covering geopolitics, demand, regulation, fuels and technology. Splash editor Sam Chambers will moderate a panel featuring Anglo-Eastern Univan Group CEO Bjorn Hojgaard, Pacific Carriers managing director and Singapore Maritime Foundation chairman Hor Weng Yew, Swire Shipping CEO Jeremy Sutton, Erasmus Shipinvest Group chairman John Su, and AET president and CEO Nick Potter.
Tankers follow, with senior executives from Foreguard Shipping, Performance Shipping, Borealis Maritime, Al Seer Marine and MOL Chemical Tankers examining geopolitical shocks and supply and demand prospects.
Technology receives an extended focus after lunch. The SplashTech Digital Leaders Forum will bring together executives from Viasat, Klaveness Digital, Kpler, TMV and Wilhelmsen to discuss the business of maritime digitalisation, including investment, M&A, procurement and the difficulties of scaling maritime technology companies. The extended technology focus reflects broader industry momentum, with digitalisation and decarbonisation-related spending increasingly shaping how shipowners and operators procure services.
Next comes the AI, Digitalisation and the Maritime Workforce session, which examines how artificial intelligence is reshaping jobs both ashore and at sea, featuring executives from Marcura, Complexio, Rio Tinto, BW Group and Cetus Maritime.
"Putting an agenda like this together is not about finding people who will give polished corporate answers; it is about getting the right mix of people on stage who are prepared to challenge each other," said Splash Singapore co-founder Grant Rowles.
"We have deliberately built every panel around people who are actually making decisions in today's market – owners, charterers, managers and technology leaders. The objective is that delegates come away with a much clearer idea of where shipping is heading over the next 12 months and, just as importantly, have plenty of time to do business with the people in the room."
The afternoon also features the Chartering Spotlight, in which Fednav, Vale, AXSMarine, Western Bulk and Heidelberg Materials Trading will debate how AI, data transparency, emissions performance and digital platforms are changing the way ships are fixed.
The programme closes with dry bulk, chaired by one of Splash's most popular moderators, Tim Huxley of Mandarin Shipping. Norden CEO Jan Rindbo, Pacific Basin CEO Martin Fruergaard, G2 Ocean CEO Arthur English, Baltic Exchange CEO Mark Jackson and Seanergy chairman and CEO Stamatis Tsantanis will examine where the market sits in the cycle, changing Chinese commodity demand and whether stronger freight markets can withstand an expanding orderbook.
Splash Singapore is supported by the Singapore Maritime Foundation and takes place one day before the Singapore Shipping Association's annual gala dinner, creating one of the most concentrated weeks of senior maritime networking on the Asian shipping calendar.
