SEB Professional Beverage has unveiled a new beverage concept that pairs premium coffee with fresh juice in a single retail solution, designed to help operators capitalise on evolving consumer demand while making the most of limited floor space.
The company's Coffee & Fresh Juice concept integrates a fully automatic WMF or Schaerer coffee machine with a Zummo fresh juicing system, creating a compact beverage station suited to supermarkets, convenience stores, hotels, office environments, and unattended retail locations. The concept brings together brands from the wider SEB Professional portfolio: WMF and Schaerer are established professional coffee machine brands, while Zummo specialises in commercial citrus juicing equipment, and all operate under French group Groupe SEB's professional beverage division.
According to SEB Professional Beverage, the concept responds to growing consumer interest in both premium coffee and fresh beverage options — a pairing that reflects broader retail trends in which convenience and grocery operators have been expanding beverage offerings to drive footfall and capture daypart sales beyond traditional shopping hours. The company says that offering both categories side by side enables operators to capture additional beverage occasions throughout the day while keeping operations simple.
"Our customers today need flexible, space-efficient concepts that deliver consistent quality and fast service," says Pablo Chuliá, Strategic Marketing Director at Zummo, SEB Professional Beverage.
"With our Coffee & Fresh Juice corner, we help stores strengthen their fresh offering, optimise workflows, and turn them into a go-to destination for premium coffee and fresh juice."
The concept has already been rolled out in Spain, where Zummo and WMF Professional Coffee Machines have partnered with organic and health-food retailer Herbolario Navarro to establish what the companies describe as the country's first Coffee & Fresh Juice Corner. The dedicated beverage area serves freshly squeezed juice alongside coffee, matcha, and tea — an assortment that also taps into growing consumer demand for matcha and health-oriented beverages in European retail.
On the coffee side, the concept draws on technologies such as Schaerer Hot & Cold, which cools espresso during dispensing to preserve flavour in iced beverages, and WMF Cold Brew Technology, which produces cold brew-style coffee in minutes rather than hours. The emphasis on chilled formats aligns with the seasonal expansion of cold coffee menus across foodservice and convenience channels in recent years.
Zummo's fresh juice systems prepare juice on demand using a patented extraction process designed to prevent contact between the juice and the peel.
The concept forms part of SEB Professional Beverage's One Connected System platform, which combines equipment and digital services, along with features such as e-payment and loyalty app integration, into a scalable beverage solution. Further rollouts of the combined format would indicate whether the dual-category station gains traction among convenience and grocery operators beyond the Spanish pilot with Herbolario Navarro.
