As compounding global energy crises and worsening climate impacts threaten vulnerable nations across Southeast Asia, Philippine business leaders, policymakers, climate advocates, solution providers, and media representatives will gather to fast-track corporate decarbonization and build long-term climate resilience. The Philippine Net Zero Conference 2026, scheduled for Sept. 15–16 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City, will serve as a crucial platform for translating corporate and national climate ambitions into urgent, measurable action. The Philippines is among the countries most exposed to climate hazards, regularly ranking high on global indices of disaster risk, which has sharpened both government and private-sector focus on adaptation and emissions reduction.

Organized by the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) in partnership with the Southeast Asia Corporate Decarbonization Exchange (CDx), the summit carries the theme “Bridging Gaps: Radical Collaboration for a Net Zero Future” and comes at a critical historical juncture. Geopolitical tensions and fossil fuel price shocks have underscored a fundamental reality: true climate resilience, operational sustainability, and enterprise survival are inseparable. Achieving net zero is no longer merely a voluntary commitment but an essential business strategy for managing operational risks, protecting supply chains, and safeguarding communities from catastrophic warming.

The event also marks the fifth anniversary of NZCA, the Philippines’ leading private-sector coalition committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions. The alliance was founded in 2021 by the First Gen-owned Energy Development Corporation (First Gen Renewables).

“The global energy crisis has made one thing unmistakably clear: protecting our climate and insulating our businesses from severe risk are the exact same fight,” said Allan Barcena, NZCA executive director. “Achieving net zero is more urgent than ever because transitioning to clean, regenerative solutions is the only viable path to safeguard our planet, manage climate risks for businesses, and ensure lasting economic survival.”

The two-day conference is structured to convert this shared urgency into concrete action. Day one will focus on the frontline realities faced by corporate decision-makers, sustainability practitioners, climate advocates, and small-to-medium enterprises. Sessions will address climate governance, mandatory sustainability disclosures, carbon footprint tracking, and mobilizing climate finance. The disclosure agenda reflects a broader regional shift, as Philippine regulators have moved in recent years to require sustainability reporting for publicly listed companies, and counterpart frameworks such as Indonesia's and Singapore's mandatory climate reporting rules have raised the bar across Southeast Asia. The opening day will also celebrate five years of private-sector climate leadership by presenting the alliance’s accomplishment report and welcoming new member pledges.

Day two turns to real-world deployment and market-ready technologies. Industry enablers and climate innovators will demonstrate how artificial intelligence, smart energy systems, carbon management tools, and science-based verification enable organizations to drastically cut emissions. Dedicated business-matching sessions will run concurrently, connecting delegates directly with clean-technology providers.
