MagTek, a global leader in secure payment technology and security solutions, and Magensa, a MagTek subsidiary that provides secure payment gateway services for card-present and card-not-present transactions, today announced the completion of Level 3 (L3) certification with Global Payments Canada. The certification marks the start of MagTek hardware and Magensa Payment Gateway support for independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprises deploying Interac and EMV payment solutions in Canada.

For MagTek and Magensa’s current U.S. partners with operations in Canada, the certification means a single platform can now support business across both countries, eliminating the need to manage separate integrations, certifications, and vendor relationships for U.S. and Canadian operations. The certification also opens the door to new business directly in Canada, allowing MagTek and Magensa to work with Canadian ISVs and enterprises that have not previously partnered with either company and giving them the same secure, certified path to Interac and EMV payment acceptance already used by partners in the U.S. For payment providers and software vendors, certifications like this are often a prerequisite for launching in a new market, so the approval is less about a product change than about making existing technology deployable in a broader set of merchant environments.

Magensa’s platform offers a broad set of capabilities for Canadian ISVs and enterprises, including full eCommerce support for in-app and web-app Apple® Pay and Google Pay, tokenization services, and Magensa Portals for merchant boarding, as well as transaction viewing and reporting with API options. Those capabilities matter for organizations that want to connect payments, onboarding, and reporting within one workflow rather than stitching together separate tools.

Built on MagTek’s newest hardware platform, MMS Dyna Devices support countertop, mobile, and kiosk implementations. The platform is designed around AES-256 encryption, which the company describes as the highest security standard in the industry, and is intended to provide additional security for each transaction. Beyond payments, the MMS Dyna Device platform also supports barcodes and non-payment NFC use cases, including MIFARE, NTAG, ECP2, Apple® VAS and Google SmartTap, access control, and mobile driver’s license (mDL) reading, making it one of the most versatile hardware platforms in the industry. DynaProx also supports DynaCast, which delivers receipts, surveys, and other content directly to a consumer’s mobile device.

MagTek said its devices differ from traditional payment terminals because they run no operating system. Each device is purpose-built for simple, highly secure payment and non-payment NFC transactions, with no software or processing credentials to load. The company said this makes ordering, distribution, setup, and operation more efficient and cost-effective for ISVs and enterprises deploying at scale.

MagTek’s hardware, DynaFlex II PED (tap, dip, swipe, enter) and DynaProx (tap), are now available and certified with Global Payments, and DynaFlex II PED additionally includes PIN debit.
