Nike and Hyperice unveil recovery slide with heat and vibration technology

Nike and Hyperice have introduced another footwear innovation aimed at helping athletes recover from the ground up: a slip-on slide.

The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide was unveiled Monday as the latest product developed in partnership with Hyperice, the health technology company that makes recovery-focused products.

By combining Nike’s footwear expertise with Hyperice’s recovery technology and building on the award-winning Nike x Hyperice Hyperboot, the slide is designed to be worn throughout the day with recovery in mind.

A magnetic Hyperslide Pod housed inside the slide’s adjustable strap delivers three levels of heat and three levels of vibration in 15-minute cycles. Athletes can customize the recovery features using the on-pod controls or the Hyperice App.

The slide also features a low-profile, full-length Air Zoom sole designed to provide soft, responsive comfort, along with targeted Hyperice heat and vibration.

"Athletes leave everything on the field, and the approach to recovery needs to meet them at the same level," Tobi Hatfield, senior director of athlete innovation at Nike, said in a statement. "With the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, we wanted to create a solution that kickstarts recovery the moment you power it up — helping athletes feel more relaxed, restored and ready to take their performance to the next level."

Nike and Hyperice gathered feedback on the product from a range of athletes, including Netherlands and Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk.

"It’s the combination that stands out," van Dijk said in a press release. "The Hyperice heat and vibration help my feet recover as quickly as possible, while the Nike Air Zoom cushioning makes it feel incredibly comfortable."

The companies said the Hyperslide reflects lessons learned from the Hyperboot, which was tested with Nike Olympians at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. The Hyperboot went on to generate more than $10 million in revenue in its first eight months, became the first shoe ever carried by Best Buy, and won numerous innovation awards.

According to the companies, the Air Zoom Hyperslide reflects the view that performance does not end when competition or training stops, and that recovery has become a higher priority for athletes seeking to stay ready for the next day. The product also extends a broader trend in sportswear and recovery tech toward gear that blends comfort, portability and personalized features rather than limiting recovery tools to dedicated equipment.

"Our partnership with Nike has always been driven by a shared commitment to innovation for the athlete," Hyperice founder Anthony Katz said in a statement. "With the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, we’re making premium recovery more accessible than ever, combining Nike’s iconic footwear expertise with Hyperice technology to help people recover smarter with every step."

The Air Zoom Hyperslide will be available beginning Sept. 29 in select markets.
