Key Takeaways

  • Active addresses on the XRP Ledger jumped 654.7%, from 47,180 to 356,070, as XRP gained more than 50% over seven days.
  • XRP traded around $1.51 early Tuesday, up 52.8% for the week, with 24-hour volume near $6.7 billion and a market capitalization of roughly $95 billion.
  • U.S. spot XRP ETFs attracted about $39.8 million in the week ended August 21, their strongest weekly inflow since May, lifting cumulative net inflows to approximately $1.55 billion.
  • Reaching $2 by August 31 would require an additional 32.5% gain, and a decisive break above the $1.65 to $1.70 resistance zone is viewed as the key condition for that move.
  • August daily active addresses on the XRP Ledger averaged about 35,700, up from roughly 26,400 in July.

Activity on the XRP Ledger has exploded during one of XRP's strongest rallies of 2026, with active addresses jumping 654.7% — from 47,180 to 356,070 — as the token gained more than 50% in seven days.

The active-address metric captures unique addresses participating in transactions across the network, and the surge coincides with XRP pushing into its highest price range in months. Network activity has also been running well above its recent baseline: August daily active addresses have averaged roughly 35,700, compared with 26,400 in July.

XRP was trading around $1.51 early Tuesday, up 52.8% over seven days, with 24-hour volume near $6.7 billion and a market capitalization around $95 billion. For traders and network watchers alike, the combination matters because price spikes that line up with rising on-chain activity often draw closer attention to whether a move is being supported by broader usage or just short-term positioning.

Rally Accelerates Alongside Network Activity

XRP spent much of August pinned close to $1 before breaking higher with the wider crypto market. The token reached approximately $1.70 over the weekend before pulling back toward $1.50, leaving the $1.65 to $1.70 area as the first major resistance zone for another leg higher.

The move accelerated as Bitcoin pushed toward $80,000 and Ethereum reclaimed $2,500. XRP had already joined the initial crypto rebound, rising about 20% in a single session as more than $3 billion in short positions were liquidated across the market.

Institutional demand has also improved. U.S. spot XRP ETFs attracted roughly $39.8 million during the week ended August 21 — their strongest weekly inflow since May — lifting cumulative net inflows to about $1.55 billion.

Ripple was also among the crypto companies represented at last week's White House meeting, where President Donald Trump pushed for passage of the CLARITY Act and broader integration of digital assets into U.S. financial markets.

$1.70 Is the Immediate Test Before $2

A move from $1.51 to $2 requires another 32.5% gain before August 31. XRP has already gained more than that over the past week, making a $2 touch mathematically achievable, but extending a 53% rally by another third within six days would require another sharp expansion in buying pressure, according to the report.

The first condition is a clean break through $1.70, where the latest rally met heavy selling. Holding above that level would open $1.80, followed by the psychological $2 threshold. At $2, XRP's circulating market capitalization would rise to roughly $125.5 billion, compared with about $95 billion currently.

Trading volume will be important around the breakout. XRP is already turning over more than $6 billion per day, but a move through $1.70 backed by expanding spot volume would provide a stronger setup than another derivatives-led burst.

The opposite level sits around $1.40. Losing that area after a 50% weekly advance would increase the probability of consolidation toward $1.30 rather than an immediate attack on $2.

Can XRP Reach $2 by August 31?

A $2 touch is possible, but it is not yet the base case with XRP at $1.51 and less than a week remaining in August, the analysis notes.

The bullish route requires XRP to clear $1.70 within the next two to three sessions, retain elevated spot volume and continue benefiting from ETF inflows and strength across Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. Under that setup, $1.80 could become the launch point for a final momentum move toward $2.

A more likely near-term range is $1.50 to $1.80 unless buyers decisively remove the supply sitting around $1.65 to $1.70. XRP has already demonstrated enough momentum to cover the required 32% distance, but after a 52.8% seven-day gain, the $1.70 breakout is now the level that determines whether $2 becomes a realistic August target.
