Key Takeaways

  • WLFI rose 4.37% over the past 24 hours to around $0.06044, with 24-hour trading volume near $121.53 million and a market capitalization of approximately $1.92 billion.
  • A wallet linked to the project, dormant for 30 days, transferred 39 million WLFI worth about $2.33 million to Bybit, after receiving an identical amount from the World Liberty Financial treasury two days earlier.
  • Depositing tokens to an exchange can facilitate liquidity provision or selling, but the transaction itself does not demonstrate that any WLFI was sold, making it a supply risk rather than proof of a sale.
  • The OCC granted conditional approval for a national trust bank charter, allowing World Liberty Trust to issue the USD1 stablecoin and offer federally regulated digital asset custody while neither taking deposits nor making loans.
  • WLFI remains under scrutiny over its ownership structure and foreign investments, including a $100 million stake by the Aqua1 Foundation and potential ties to Guren "Bobby" Zhou, whom British authorities are investigating for money laundering.
World Liberty Financial-Linked Wallet Moves 39 Million WLFI Worth $2.33 Million to Bybit

The price of World Liberty Financial (WLFI) gained 4.37% over the past 24 hours as renewed activity involving a wallet linked to the project brought fresh attention to the Trump-backed crypto initiative. WLFI is currently trading near $0.06044, while its 24-hour trading volume reached approximately $121.53 million, according to market data. The token's market capitalization stood near $1.92 billion, representing about 0.09% of the broader cryptocurrency market.

Linked Wallet Moves $2.33 Million in WLFI to Bybit

The recent price movement follows the on-chain activity of an address related to the World Liberty Financial wallet, which had gone 30 days without any recorded activity. According to a recent post by Onchain Lens, the wallet transferred 39 million WLFI, a holding valued at approximately $2.33 million — about 0.12% of the token's total market capitalization — to the cryptocurrency exchange Bybit. Notably, the same address was the recipient of another 39 million WLFI from the World Liberty Financial wallet treasury just two days prior to the transfer.

Transfers of tokens to centralized exchanges tend to draw attention from market observers because such deposits can be used to facilitate liquidity provision and selling. However, the transactions themselves do not necessarily imply that the WLFI involved was actually sold. Therefore, the renewed activity of the wallet poses a supply risk rather than indicating that a sale has taken place by the project or its team.

OCC Approval Adds Regulatory Support for WLFI

The wallet transaction comes after the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) granted conditional approval for a national trust bank charter connected to World Liberty Financial. Under the terms of the approval, World Liberty Trust can move forward with issuing and operating a USD1 stablecoin and with offering digital asset custody services regulated by federal authorities. The proposed institution will neither take deposits nor give loans. The charter application is proceeding as U.S. stablecoin issuance shifts toward federally regulated structures following the GENIUS Act, the stablecoin legislation signed into law in July 2025, which set federal rules for dollar-backed tokens and their reserves.

The regulatory development had at first served as a salient positive catalyst for the project, the report noted. Since then, USD1 has evolved into one of the major stablecoins in the market, reportedly circulating for a total value of more than $4 billion, though it remains well behind the sector's dominant tokens, Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC. Nevertheless, there are still regulatory requirements that WLFI must meet in order to receive final approval, which suggests that the charter itself remains a work-in-progress element of the broader expansion plan.

Despite the progress made on the regulatory front, WLFI is still being probed with respect to its ownership structure and foreign investments. Recent reporting has touched on the $100 million investment in WLFI made by the Aqua1 Foundation, as well as potential ties to Guren “Bobby” Zhou, who is currently under investigation by British authorities for money laundering. Against this backdrop, the open questions for observers include whether the 39 million WLFI deposited to Bybit stays on the exchange or is withdrawn, and which conditions World Liberty Trust must still satisfy to convert its conditional approval into a final charter.
