Triad Business Bank Appoints Brent Burgess to Board of Directors

Triad Business Bank, a North Carolina-based business bank focused on serving small and mid-sized companies, has appointed Brent Burgess to its board of directors, bringing more than 30 years of investment experience and a proven track record across private and public investment firms to the role.

Burgess currently serves as managing partner, co-founder, and a member of the investment committee at Concentric, a private investment firm that provides debt and equity capital to U.S. companies. His expertise and strategic insight are expected to support the bank's growth and long-term sustainability.

"Brent has extensive experience in the financial industry. His ability to foster strategic agility when making investments and navigating capital markets has been instrumental in driving successful outcomes for the companies he has led," said Ramsey Hamadi, Chief Executive Officer of Triad Business Bank.

Prior to founding Concentric, Burgess co-founded Triangle Capital Corporation, where he oversaw $2.3 billion in investments across 165 private companies and guided the firm through its initial public offering in 2007. The Raleigh-based firm operated as a business development company, a structure that allows pass-through tax treatment for investors who provide capital to growing private businesses.

Burgess holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Regina in Canada. He subsequently earned his MCS/MA from Regent College at the University of British Columbia, where he received the Board of Governor's Prize.

In addition to his investment career, Burgess has served on multiple advisory boards, including Cypress Hills Partners, Granville Advisers, and Harbor Capital.

"We are excited to have Brent Burgess join our board of directors. His experience and achievements make him an invaluable asset to the team," Hamadi said. "Brent's insight and understanding of investing will allow us to strengthen and expand our relationships in the Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC) industry."

The SBIC program, administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration, licenses privately owned and managed investment funds that use their own capital plus SBA-guaranteed leverage to provide long-term debt and equity financing to small businesses. For a bank of Triad's footprint, deeper SBIC ties could open additional channels for supporting local and regional companies seeking growth capital beyond traditional lending.
