Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) announced that its Hong Kong-based dim sum chain, Tim Ho Wan, intends to double its Taiwan store network to 32 locations by 2030 as part of a franchise-driven expansion strategy.
The move underscores JFC's broader push to build a multi-brand international portfolio, with Chinese cuisine identified as a key growth segment alongside its flagship Filipino fast-food brand and other acquired chains across coffee, burgers, and Asian dining.
"Taiwan is one of Tim Ho Wan's most established and successful franchise markets, and we are excited about the opportunity to bring the brand to even more consumers in the years ahead," Tim Ho Wan Chief Executive Officer Lee Yeong Sheng said in a statement on Wednesday.
The four-year growth plan calls for Tim Ho Wan to grow its Taiwan footprint from 16 stores to 32 through its local franchisee. "Our four-year growth plan builds on the strength of the brand, the capabilities of our Taiwan franchisee, and the market's long-term potential," Mr. Lee added.
Hoyii Life, Tim Ho Wan's exclusive franchise operator in Taiwan, will support the expansion. According to JFC, Hoyii Life will manage both company-owned store development and sub-franchise growth.
JFC also noted that Taiwan-based Collins Co., Ltd. has entered as Hoyii Life's majority shareholder, a move expected to provide additional resources to facilitate store expansion and the development of new store formats.
"With Jollibee Group's extensive F&B experience, clear roadmap for Tim Ho Wan's future, cohesive global brand strategy, and insights from its direct operating markets, we are confident that Tim Ho Wan can double its footprint in Taiwan by 2030 while continuing to deliver the quality and familiarity customers have come to trust," said Hoyii Life Chief Executive Officer Jeff Lin.
JFC stated that Tim Ho Wan's new concept store format is designed to reach more mobile consumers while generating operational insights that could inform expansion in other markets.
The company identified Tim Ho Wan as one of its key growth platforms in the Chinese cuisine segment.
Tim Ho Wan currently operates 80 stores across multiple markets worldwide. The Hong Kong-based dim sum chain, which originated as a modest eatery and gained global recognition for its Michelin-starred cuisine, became part of JFC in 2025 following the transfer of ownership to Jollibee Worldwide Pte. Ltd. (JWPL), a JFC subsidiary.
