Championship side Queens Park Rangers have taken to LinkedIn to sell the naming rights to stands at their Loftus Road Stadium, a move that underscores the growing emphasis on commercial revenue streams among second-tier English clubs operating without the financial cushion of Premier League broadcast income.

The London-based club described the offer as "an exciting opportunity" to sponsor QPR, stating that a "company-branded stand would become part of the visual backdrop of QPR matches."

All four stands at Loftus Road currently carry names, though only one is tied to a commercial sponsorship. The members' area is located within the Loftus Road Stand, while the dugout stand is known as the Bhatia Stand, named after former shareholder Amit Bhatia. Bhatia is currently leading a consortium bidding for a significant minority stake in Premier League club Liverpool, as reported by City AM.

Opposite the Bhatia Stand is the Stanley Bowles Stand, honouring the QPR legend who earned five caps for England during the 1970s. Away supporters are housed in the Achilleus Security Stand.

Loftus Road, which has served as QPR's home for over a century, has a capacity of approximately 18,439, making it one of the smaller venues in the Championship. The compact nature of the ground means stand branding would feature prominently in broadcast coverage and matchday footage.

In its LinkedIn post, the club wrote: "What if your company name wasn't simply displayed at a football stadium, but became part of the stadium itself?"

"This is more than traditional stadium advertising. Your company. Your stand. Your signage is visible," the post continued.

The decision to market the rights directly through a professional networking platform rather than via a traditional sports agency route reflects a broader trend among EFL clubs exploring unconventional commercial channels to bridge the revenue gap with their top-flight counterparts.

The Championship market in the capital is notably competitive. London currently hosts QPR alongside Millwall, Charlton, West Ham, and Watford in the second tier, with a further six clubs competing in the Premier League.

The club elaborated on the scope of the sponsorship: "From ingress, egress areas, concourses to hospitality areas and other agreed stadium assets, your company will become a recognisable part of the QPR matchday."

"The package would also include hospitality, giving you the opportunity to entertain clients, prospects, employees and key business partners at Matrade Loftus Road Stadium, whilst your company name is displayed prominently around one of London's most historic football venues," QPR added.

One respondent to the LinkedIn post commented: "Just do the right thing and call it the Les Ferdinand Stand."
