PumpFun fees rose 12% from the previous week, driven by higher trading volumes on the launchpad, the PumpSwap exchange, and the Terminal trading product. The platform said Aug. 3-9 was its “first week above $10M.”

DeFiLlama also recorded strong activity, reporting that Pump.fun generated $10.49 million in seven days, although the data provider measures the protocol differently. Pump.fun is a Solana-based memecoin launchpad that uses a bonding-curve mechanism to mint tokens, meaning each new token purchase raises the price along a preset curve until the token graduates to a liquidity pool.

PumpFun Fees Move Ahead of Hyperliquid

Pump.fun said its revenue over the past 30 days exceeded Hyperliquid’s revenue. Based on DeFiLlama data, Pump.fun generated $35.67 million, while Hyperliquid recorded $32.46 million.

The figures should be viewed carefully, however, because the two protocols calculate revenue differently. Pump.fun’s revenue includes fees from the bonding curve, PumpSwap, and Terminal. Hyperliquid is a decentralized perpetual futures exchange, so the comparison spans fundamentally different business models.

According to Pump.fun, ecosystem trading volume reached $2.97 billion for the week. Of that total, the bonding curve accounted for $751.6 million, while PumpSwap handled $2.22 billion.

The increase in PumpFun fees came during the platform’s highest trading week since late January.

PUMP Buybacks Reach $5 Million

Pump.fun spent $5.02 million buying and burning roughly 2.15 billion PUMP tokens over the seven-day period. The platform has said 50% of profits will be used to buy back and burn PUMP through a locked smart contract. Burning tokens permanently removes them from circulation, reducing total supply over time.

Pump.fun said cumulative buys and burns have already reached 15.7% of the token’s total supply. DeFiLlama put the value of the latest seven-day burn process at about $5.16 million.

PUMP Gains Ahead of August 12 Unlock

At the time of writing, PUMP was trading at $0.002873, up about 28.45% over seven days and more than 106% over 30 days. Its circulating market capitalization had climbed to roughly $1.1 billion, although the token remained 68% below its all-time high from September 2025.

The latest PumpFun fees increase is not an obvious single driver of the price move, as several events were unfolding at the same time.

Attention is now turning to the Aug. 12 token unlock. Token unlocks release previously locked allocations into circulating supply, and large unlocks can add selling pressure depending on how recipients behave. According to DeFiLlama, 4.167 billion PUMP are in circulation for the team and another 2.708 billion for investors, for a total of 6.875 billion tokens worth about $19.2 million. The unlock represents 1.75% of the circulating supply.

On Aug. 7, pump.fun launched social trading features that include token mentions, zero-fee trading, and cross-chain trading with USDC.

The platform is also facing a legal case in the United States that alleges securities violations. Those remain allegations. Regulatory scrutiny of token launchpads has been a recurring theme across the crypto sector, with multiple platforms facing similar questions about whether tokens issued through bonding curves qualify as securities.

The next question is whether trading volume can continue to support PumpFun fees.
