Small-scale solar system services company Otovo is set to establish a presence in Hawaii through its acquisition of PV Hawaii LLC.
PV Hawaii, founded in 2016 and based in Oahu, provides solar repair, warranty and inspection services as well as panel cleaning for residential and commercial customers. The company is certified across 10 major equipment brands. Otovo is acquiring the brand together with Mr. Elektro in Norway for a combined purchase price of $4.6 million.
Hawaii is one of the most solar-dense states in the U.S., a market where high electricity prices and abundant sunshine have driven widespread residential rooftop adoption over decades. That installed base has in turn created sustained demand for repair, inspection and maintenance services as systems age, which aligns with Otovo's focus on aftermarket solar care rather than new installations.
Otovo plans to bring its Endurance AI platform to PV Hawaii's local field crews and customer relationships, which the company says will enable faster service and real-time visibility.
"PV Hawaii and Mr. Elektro bring licensed, experienced local teams that strengthen how we serve customers, and they extend our platform into Hawaii for the first time while deepening our reach across Norway and Sweden," said William (John) Berger, CEO of Otovo. "These acquisitions come with strong leaders that we can integrate into the management team. Leveraging our powerful Endurance AI platform, we are continuing our successful plug-and-play acquisition strategy that has helped us create the world's leading provider of behind-the-meter energy services for homes and businesses."
Otovo entered the United States less than a year ago as an O&M brand serving the residential market. The Hawaii deal marks the company's second known step in building a U.S. service footprint, extending its reach beyond the mainland residential market it entered initially. Otovo itself is a European company, founded in Norway, that operates a marketplace connecting homeowners with local installers for solar panels, batteries and related home energy products across multiple European countries.
The company's Endurance platform leverages artificial intelligence to diagnose system issues and dispatch qualified technicians in real time. The intelligent network coordinates field crews, service vehicles and home energy systems to deliver rapid solutions. Real-time customer tracking is designed to ensure transparency throughout the service process, while smart routing technology aims to maximize first-visit resolution rates and minimize technician travel time. Applying such tooling to PV Hawaii's operations would be a test of whether Otovo's software-driven service model, developed in European markets, can transfer to an island geography with distinct logistics and licensing conditions.
