A political analyst raised alarms on Wednesday after Iranian state media disseminated an AI-generated video that explicitly threatened two members of President Donald Trump's family.

David Pakman, host of "The David Pakman Show" on YouTube, drew attention to a video circulated by Tasnim News Agency, an Iranian media outlet he identified as affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The video, produced using artificial intelligence, depicted what Pakman described as a "very detailed fantasy" of the assassination of First Lady Melania Trump, followed by a separate threat directed at her son, Barron Trump. Pakman discussed the content during a new episode of his program.

According to Pakman, the video featured multiple locations in New York where Melania Trump is known to frequent. It concluded with a menacing message addressed to Barron: "Wait for us."

"This is a known thing meant to generate fear and terror, and that's really the point of this," Pakman said. "The feeling that we could get your family, regardless of whether they have anything to do with the decisions you're making to attack the Strait of Hormuz, or power plants or civilian infrastructure."

Pakman confirmed that the United States Secret Service is aware of the video and is "taking it very seriously." Nevertheless, he emphasized that such threats can have a devastating impact on the daily lives of Melania and Barron Trump.

"Imagine being Barron and knowing that a media organization aligned with a very hostile foreign government that's angry with your dad is saying, 'Wait for us, Barron,'" Pakman said. "Or imagine being Melania and wondering... 'Is that someone who is coming after me?' It just makes your day-to-day life very difficult. And even if [there is] no attack comes, that fear can follow them everywhere."

Tasnim News Agency is a privately owned Iranian news outlet established in 2012 that maintains close ties to the IRGC, a branch of Iran's armed forces designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States in April 2019. The designation, made during Trump's first term, marked the first time Washington formally labeled a branch of another sovereign nation's military as a terrorist organization. The agency regularly publishes content reflecting Iranian state and hardline institutional interests.

The threats also surface against the backdrop of deep-seated U.S.–Iran hostilities that peaked during Trump's first term. In January 2020, Trump ordered a drone strike near Baghdad International Airport that killed Qasem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, bringing the two countries to the brink of open conflict. Iran's leadership publicly vowed retaliation, and days later the IRGC launched ballistic missiles at Iraqi bases housing American troops. Iranian officials and state-linked media have continued to reference the strike in anti-U.S. messaging in the years since.

The deployment of AI-generated video to depict violence against political figures reflects a growing frontier in state-linked information operations, as synthetic media tools become more capable and widely accessible.

The United States Secret Service operates under the Department of Homeland Security and is tasked with protecting the president, the vice president, their immediate families, and other designated individuals. Threats against protectees are routinely investigated by the agency.
