Gate’s latest announcements come amid strong third-party validation. According to CryptoQuant’s report Wall Street, Always On, Gate recorded about $15 billion in TradFi equity perpetual futures trading volume in July 2026, representing a 308% month-on-month increase and the highest growth rate among all tracked exchanges.

The surge was concentrated in AI memory and semiconductor assets. SanDisk (SNDK) and SK Hynix together accounted for roughly 53% of Gate’s equity futures volume, highlighting the growing role of crypto infrastructure in institutional-style thematic trading.

Gate also introduced AI Picks this week, a pre-market stock selection feature that uses AI to scan price and volume signals, industry events, and news catalysts across US, Hong Kong, and Korean equities before each session. Gate described the product as a first-of-its-kind integration of AI investment research into a crypto-native platform, extending its stock offering beyond execution and into pre-market idea generation.

Together, these developments show Gate expanding from a crypto exchange into a multi-asset financial ecosystem, with stock, futures, tokenized assets, and wealth products increasingly tied together on the same platform.

TradFi Expansion: New Contracts, Rankings, and Executive Commentary

Gate’s futures stock section added new perpetual contracts in two rounds this week. On August 13, seven USDT-margined contracts went live: MO (Altria), CIFR (Cipher Digital), NET (Cloudflare), VRTX (Vertex Pharmaceuticals), BIIB (Biogen), CLSK (CleanSpark), and REGN (Regeneron). All support 1–20x leverage.

A second batch launched on August 14, covering LGELECTRONICS, NAVER, HANMI, ZHONGJI (Zhongji Innolight, HK), and the KODEX200 Samsung ETF.

On the spot side, Gate’s stock trading ranked second in RootData’s latest exchange rankings, with about $75.62 million in 24-hour public order book volume. That placed it behind Binance, which had $226 million, and ahead of OKX, which had $70.58 million.

Gate also launched nine USD1-margined perpetual futures markets covering BTC, ETH, SOL, XAU, SPCX, SNDK, MU, SK Hynix, and XAG. The launch was accompanied by a limited-time fee promotion offering zero maker fees and a 75% discount on taker fees across all VIP levels.

Tokenized stock products tracked the activity closely. Nebius (NBISG) rose 22.36% and SpaceX (SPCXG) gained 10.49% in one session. The following day, the 2X Long SNDK Daily ETF (SNXXG) surged 26.66%, SanDisk (SNDKG) added 13.35%, and Circle (CRCLG) rose 7.41%.

Gate gStocks operates on a 1:1 fully backed native stock reserve mechanism and supports 24/7 trading with fractional positions from 1 USDT, which helps explain why the product can mirror traditional market names without waiting for exchange hours.

On the commentary side, Gate Executive Director Edwin Cheung appeared on The Rollup to discuss TradFi-crypto convergence, tokenization strategy, and compliance infrastructure. Cheung said investor demand, particularly from China and Asia, is increasingly focused on global AI stocks. In a separate LinkedIn post, Gate Head of Market Development, Equities Lucas Sum argued that multi-asset investing is shifting away from platform-switching and toward unified capital allocation environments, with competition increasingly defined by how well platforms reduce the operational costs of cross-market investing.
