Gate Ranks Among Top Three in RWA Perpetual Trading as Stock Futures Post Third Month of Triple-Digit Growth

Gate entered the second week of September with a series of milestones spanning real-world asset (RWA) perpetual trading, traditional finance products, derivatives, compliance and wealth management. CoinDesk’s August 2026 Exchange Review ranked Gate third globally in RWA perpetual trading after its monthly volume rose 158% to $64.7 billion. Its market share increased from 5.32% to 12.6%. Across spot and derivatives markets combined, Gate ranked fourth globally with approximately $327 billion in trading volume. The platform’s global user base has exceeded 60 million. These figures cover distinct measures, including trading volume, market share and user reach, rather than a single performance indicator.

Gate’s August Transparency Report provided additional operating figures. Stock perpetual trading volume increased 308% month over month, marking the third consecutive month of triple-digit growth. Gate’s share of open interest in RWA perpetuals reached 49.6%, ranking first among global centralized exchanges (CEXs). Thirty-day net inflows totaled $308.1 million, placing Gate second among major platforms. Total reserves stood at $8.215 billion, representing an overall reserve ratio of 127%.

Gate’s regulatory and institutional operations also expanded. Gate Futures LLC is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as an Independent Introducing Broker and is a member of the National Futures Association. Gate US separately announced that Gravity Team, a liquidity provider with more than $500 billion in cumulative spot trading volume across more than 40 exchanges, had joined the platform as an institutional client and would provide two-sided liquidity across supported markets.

TradFi and Equities

Gate said its traditional finance (TradFi) infrastructure continued to expand. The platform now offers 1,004 TradFi assets, ranking first globally, while its stock futures segment recorded approximately $1.092 billion in 24-hour trading volume.

In a LinkedIn post, Lucas Sum, Gate’s Head of Market Development, Equities, said that as investment infrastructure becomes increasingly digital, a key differentiator is how effectively a platform reduces friction throughout the investment lifecycle, from funding an account to managing positions. He cited fractional trading as one example. Gate currently provides access to more than 12,800 stocks and exchange-traded funds across the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. Fractional trading is available from 0.01 shares.

The stock futures lineup added BHP Group Limited, Rio Tinto, Vale, Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR) and SoftBank. The contracts support leverage of 1–20x, bringing total stock futures coverage to 401 instruments.

Options activity also increased in August. Total options volume rose 36.64% month over month, while premium trading volume climbed 192.83%. U.S. stock options went live with an initial selection of nine equities, including NVIDIA, Tesla and Apple.

Several tokenized securities traded higher. The 2x Long MRVL Daily ETF (MVLLG) led the listed gStocks assets with an 8.47% gain. Meta increased 5.13%, and the Daily MU Bull 2X Shares rose 4.28%.

Gate also launched an Apple New Product Rewards campaign running through September 24. Prize-draw entries are tied to stock trading volume, with top prizes including the iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo. The sixth episode of Gate Talk featured KOL Qianshui Observer discussing multi-asset allocation. The discussion compared the maturity of U.S. equities markets with the innovation-driven upside of crypto, reflecting Gate’s cross-market product positioning.

On-chain Trading and Derivatives

Gate’s Trenches section is hosting a Robinhood Chain Trading Competition through September 20. The event has a 100,000 USDT prize pool divided across five reward tracks linked to trading volume, referrals and daily check-ins.

The Futures Robinhood Section added FLYBRAIN, FRONG and JUGGERNAUT perpetual contracts, as well as trading-bot and copy-trading support. According to CoinGlass data, STONK ranked first among CEXs by 24-hour futures trading volume and second across all platforms by open interest.

Gate’s platform-wide open interest reached $12.068 billion, ranking third globally, according to DefiLlama. On-chain data also recorded approximately $20.85 million in BTC, or around 267 BTC, transferred into a Gate address.

In metals trading, gold (XAUT) moved back above $4,400. Gate’s XAUT perpetual open interest reached $124.97 million, ranking second across the industry.

Gate Institutional’s weekly macro update said stronger-than-expected U.S. nonfarm payroll data increased expectations for a September rate hike and put pressure on risk assets. BTC gained approximately 2.26% during the week despite briefly falling from above 82,000 USDT. Gate’s weekly TradFi trading volume reached approximately $120 billion, with capital rotating notably back into U.S. equities and ETFs.

Earn and Wealth Management

The Transparency Report highlighted two developments in Gate’s yield products. GUSD funds reached a record $257 million on August 15. Gate also officially launched Idle Earn, which enables eligible stablecoins held in Spot and Futures accounts to accrue interest automatically at up to 3% APR. The product requires no subscription, lock-up period or manual collection.

A Gate Research report reviewed the platform’s broader wealth-management offering. It said Gate’s 7–30-day USDT VIP Fixed-Term products provide annualized yields of 3.8–4%, with capacity at the tens-of-millions-of-USDT level. The report also said Gate’s displayed yields more closely reflect the weighted returns users actually receive than those shown by some competing platforms.

Three Launchpool campaigns ran concurrently. MarsCat (MCAT), the 375th project, exceeded a $1 million reward pool. Its GT and MCAT staking pools offered estimated APRs of 174.53% and 7,522.57%, respectively, alongside the active CP and ALIGN pools.

Event Market

Gate’s prediction-market business expanded sharply in August. The Transparency Report said event-contract trading volume increased 286% month over month, while the number of active trading users rose 473%.

Product updates included P&L curves and calendars, Polymarket leaderboard tier badges, and dedicated pages for esports and the Big Five football leagues. Event Points Season 4 is underway with a total prize pool of 17,689 USDT. The top-ranked participant is estimated to receive more than 5,300 USDT.

Chelsea vs. Hull City and Liverpool vs. Fulham, scheduled for September 12, were live on the market, with Chelsea holding an 80% support rate. The Event Market Trading Rewards Campaign runs through September 22.

Separately, Futures Points Airdrop Phase 140 launched on September 11. Users can redeem Futures Points for 100 USDT position vouchers or 0.04 AAPL shares through a decreasing-threshold mechanism that gives users with more points earlier access.
