Fetch.ai is extending its most capable AI feature beyond its paying customer base. Every account on the ASI:One platform now includes three free projects for testing Athena, the execution layer designed to handle complex, multi-step tasks that go well beyond basic chatbot interactions.

The expansion, announced on September 5, 2026, arrives roughly three weeks after Athena initially launched as an exclusive feature for PRO subscribers on August 13. By opening access to all users, Fetch.ai is signaling confidence in the tool and allowing it to demonstrate its value directly.

The move also reflects a broader shift across the AI industry, where providers are moving from single-response chatbots toward agentic systems that plan, use tools, and complete multi-step work on a user's behalf. Fetch.ai, a founding member of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance alongside SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol, has positioned its Agentverse ecosystem around this agent-centric approach.
