FedEx Freight, the less-than-truckload carrier, announced Wednesday after the market close that it has terminated Mike Lyons, its chief specialized services and commercial officer. Lyons had been appointed to the role in June 2025, one year ahead of the company’s planned spinoff from FedEx Corp., which is expected to be completed by June 2026 and will make FedEx Freight one of the largest standalone LTL carriers in North America.
“Following an internal investigation, the Company determined Mr. Lyons violated its Code of Conduct and no longer met the standards of employment at FedEx Freight,” the company stated in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. “Mr. Lyons’s conduct was not related to and did not impact the Company’s financial reporting or performance, internal controls, strategy, or customer relationships.”
