A dispute broke out online Saturday after a young man interrupted Erika Kirk during a church appearance in Kirkland, Washington.

The incident occurred Friday night at Pursuit Church, where Kirk was speaking as part of her "Make Heaven Crowded" tour event. Video from the event shows a young man standing up and shouting one sentence toward Kirk.

"You married Charlie Kirk," he said.

The video then shows security personnel removing the young man from the room and handcuffing him. The footage cited in the online posts does not show the man making additional remarks before he was escorted out.

The X account Frontlines TPUSA, which is affiliated with Turning Point USA, the organization now led by Kirk, described the episode as a "scary moment." According to the account, "A far-left activist infiltrated" the event, although the footage showed the young man standing alone and shouting the single line.

Jonathan Choe, who recorded the video later posted by Frontlines TPUSA, asked the young man what he wanted to say to Erika Kirk. The man largely remained silent, but said, "The things she supports is offensive." Kirk assumed leadership of TPUSA after the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, at a Utah University speaking event on Sept. 10, 2025. That backdrop has made her public appearances a focus of heightened attention among supporters and critics alike.

Earlier this year, students succeeded in getting their Phoenix high school to cancel her planned on-campus event after saying they considered her views "too extremist."

Charlie Kirk's violent death complicated his legacy as a MAGA influencer who built a career promoting ideas the Congressional Black Caucus condemned as “racist, harmful, and fundamentally un-American.”

Other MAGA accounts also described the church incident as frightening, with some saying, "It was scary," while others praised Erika Kirk for continuing the event.

Some observers questioned the use of the word "infiltrated." Seattle-based journalist Hannah Krieg asked "what infiltrate means" in this context, saying, "It was a publicly advertised event with no screening process."

Writer Matthew Boedy made a similar point, writing, "Interesting use of 'infiltrated.' Isn't this a tour to evangelize? Don't want people like this?"
