Dash Microfinance Bank has launched Dash Pay for Me, a new feature in the Dash app aimed at making it easier for users to request and receive money.

According to the bank, Dash Pay for Me enables users to send direct money requests to anyone and for any purpose. Once the request is approved, the funds are credited instantly to the user’s Dash account.

The bank said the feature is part of the Dash V2 product suite, a broader rollout of next-generation tools designed to make everyday financial transactions faster, smoother, and less stressful for Nigerians. The update fits into a wider shift in consumer banking toward app-based tools that reduce manual steps in common transactions, such as sharing account details, confirming transfers, or tracking repeated payments.

Rotimi Awofisibe, Managing Director/CEO of Dash Microfinance Bank, said the feature was created to address a common social and financial practice in Nigeria.

“Nigerians request money from each other every single day, but the process has always come with some friction. With Dash Pay for Me, we are removing that friction entirely. It is a simple idea built around how people actually live and interact: quick, clear requests and fast payments, with no long explanations needed.”

Awofisibe said the Dash app upgrade is focused on solving routine financial challenges that users encounter in daily life.

“Asking for money is one of those small but constant frictions in daily life; whether you are splitting a bill, contributing to a group gift, getting paid back by a friend, or asking family for support,” Awofisibe explained. “The usual process involves sending long account details, explaining what the money is for, and constantly checking to confirm if the payment has landed.”

He urged Nigerians to use the new feature, confirming that Dash Pay for Me is now available to all users as part of the Dash V2 product suite. The Dash app is also available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In addition to Dash Pay for Me, Dash Microfinance Bank has introduced several other features under the Dash V2 product suite to improve everyday banking convenience. Users can now schedule one-time or recurring payments for transfers, bills, and other transactions. The app sends reminders before each scheduled payment is processed and allows users to edit or cancel payments at any time.

The upgraded app also includes Payment Categories, which allow users to tag transactions, monitor spending patterns through visual insights, set spending limits for different categories, and receive notifications as they approach those limits. The bank said the tools are intended to help users manage their finances more effectively. For customers, the usefulness of the new suite will depend on how easily these tools fit into regular spending, bill payment, and peer-to-peer transfer habits.
