ComplyScore Launches Headless TPRM to Bring Conversational AI to Risk and Compliance Management
Key Takeaways
- •Headless TPRM decouples the front-end experience from ComplyScore's underlying system of record for vendor risk and compliance data.
- •Users can interact with the platform through natural language, chat, voice, or embedded API workflows instead of menus and wizards.
- •The system can launch vendor assessments, check risk scores, run compliance reports, and support permission-based end-to-end transactions within a conversation.
- •The launch arrives as third-party risk management oversight has tightened under U.S. banking guidance and the EU's DORA rules.
- •Atlas Systems says the approach is designed to reduce the learning curve for users while keeping access fully governed across connected enterprise systems.

ComplyScore®, a risk and compliance management solution, has launched Headless TPRM, a new architecture that separates the secure system of record for vendor risk and compliance data from the way people interact with it. Instead of requiring users to navigate menus, forms, and multi-step wizards, the new Headless User Interface for ComplyScore® TPRM allows risk teams, procurement staff, and business owners to ask business questions in natural language. Users can also access information from ComplyScore® and other enterprise applications to support faster decision-making.
The launch lands as third-party risk management carries growing weight for regulated firms. U.S. banking regulators finalized interagency guidance on managing third-party relationships in 2023, and the European Union's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which applies from January 2025, sets out requirements for how financial entities oversee ICT third-party providers. As oversight expectations have tightened, TPRM software vendors have increasingly competed not only on the depth of the risk data they hold, but on how quickly non-specialist staff can act on it.
Built for the Flow of Work
Headless TPRM extends Atlas Systems' ComplyScore® platform with an API-driven, conversational intelligence layer. The "headless" label applies a design pattern already established in categories such as content management and digital commerce, where a backend system of record is decoupled from front-end delivery so that new interfaces can be added without disturbing the underlying data. The ability to interface with ComplyScore® and other enterprise systems is intended to provide comprehensive, holistic information. ComplyScore® technology enables this securely, ensuring users can access only the information and functionality they are authorized to use across ComplyScore® and other enterprise systems. The database that stores sensitive risk records, scoring rules, and governance policies remains unchanged in the background. What changes is the frontend: instead of a traditional dashboard, users express what they need in natural language, and AI agents carry out the underlying tasks, whether that means launching a vendor assessment, checking the status of a review, or running a report.
"For years, TPRM software has asked users to adapt to the software, to learn its screens, its workflows, its language," said Venu Chalamala, Founder and CEO of Atlas Systems. "With Headless TPRM, we are flipping the equation. The software now comes to the users, within the tools and applications they already use, eliminating the complexity and delivering superior user experience, that is unmatched. This isn't an incremental evolution of TPRM. It's a leap forward in how enterprise risk and compliance software is experienced, accessed, and embedded into the way people work."
With the launch of Headless TPRM, requests such as starting a new vendor assessment, checking a risk score, or pulling a compliance report can happen through natural-language commands within an interactive conversation, or through embedded workflows via API. Users no longer need technical or system-specific knowledge to complete these tasks. There is no clicking through buttons or wizards, and no memorizing menu trees. The system understands intent expressed in natural language and acts on it directly.
Users can ask about a vendor's risk score or the status of a review and receive a narrated answer drawn from existing data. The system can also initiate and execute underlying actions and workflows directly, rather than simply describing them. For actions that require the appropriate level of access, the chat interface supports interactive, permission-based workflows, so a transaction can typically be completed end-to-end within the same conversation. Access remains fully governed, and users can only view or act on data from organizations they are already authorized to access. That emphasis on permission-aware behavior speaks to one of the questions enterprises most often raise about conversational AI: whether a chat front end can preserve the access controls of the systems behind it.
Why Headless TPRM
By decoupling the experience layer from the system of record, users interact with vendor risk and compliance data through chat, voice, or embedded workflows without migrating or disrupting the underlying compliance data itself. For customers, this means a zero-learning curve, since there are no complicated screens or menu trees to master, and greater agility, as new experiences can be introduced or upgraded independently of the core risk and compliance system.
For organizations weighing the approach, the practical test points are the ones the architecture itself raises: how the conversational layer handles real assessment workflows at scale, and how deep its integrations run into the other enterprise applications a given firm already uses.
