Cheniere Energy said Monday that it has completed its Corpus Christi LNG (CCL) Stage 3 project after bringing the seventh and final liquefaction train online at the expansion in South Texas.
The milestone caps a multiyear build-out of the Stage 3 expansion, which added seven modular liquefaction trains to the Corpus Christi export terminal on the Texas Gulf Coast. The original Corpus Christi facility, commissioned in the late 2010s, had three larger liquefaction trains; the Stage 3 project expanded the site's capacity using smaller, midscale trains similar to those Cheniere deployed at its Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana.

With the final train in service, Cheniere said its overall liquefaction output has risen by about 20%, reinforcing its position as the largest LNG producer in the United States.
