Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, October 15th, 2026, Chainwire — Crypto exchange platform ChangeNOW announced on October 15 that it has fixed a vulnerability affecting one of the integrations used on its website, a flaw identified with the help of independent security researchers. Alongside the fix, the company unveiled NOW AI, a new protection initiative designed to strengthen security across its products.

According to the company, there is currently no evidence that the vulnerability was exploited, but ChangeNOW said it cannot assume that the researchers who reported the issue were the only ones to find it. Because of that, the company is examining the different possible scenarios and warning clients about the information that could potentially have been exposed, which may include email addresses and transaction details.

ChangeNOW stressed that its transaction infrastructure was not affected and that customer funds were never at risk.

The company said the main thing clients should watch out for now is suspicious or fraudulent messages. A phony message could reference real transactions or support conversations to appear legitimate, and the company's warning reflects that risk: email addresses and transaction details are precisely the kind of information a convincing fake can draw on. Clients who receive an unexpected message that appears to come from ChangeNOW are advised to check the sender before responding, clicking on any links, or giving any information.

"We exclusively contact clients via support@changenow.io and we will never ask for a private key, seed phrase, or any password by email," the company stated.

ChangeNOW noted that people contact its support and compliance teams because they trust the platform with information they would not share publicly, and that it understands the responsibility that comes with that. While it has no indication the vulnerability was exploited, the company said it believes it is important to warn of the possible risks rather than wait until there is total certainty.

"Our clients are at the center of what we do, and we're continuing to upgrade the protection of our products," the company said. Among the actions being taken is the launch of NOW AI, a dedicated protection lab with a mission to raise the security standard across all ChangeNOW products. The company wants to apply the same technology to the defensive side to spot danger earlier and bake stronger security into its products, especially as AI makes malicious action easier to automate and expand. In that framing, the same automation that makes malicious action easier to scale is being redirected toward earlier detection — the premise on which the new lab is built.

According to ChangeNOW, the incident only made the need to move faster more obvious, and it accelerated the launch of NOW AI.
