The Britannia Group has announced the launch of its newly redesigned website, delivering a cleaner, faster digital experience with significantly improved navigation and search functionality.
Developed with users at its core, the new site makes it easier than ever to navigate and explore Britannia's extensive range of information and resources. With a streamlined design and enhanced search capabilities, Members and visitors can quickly find the content they need, from loss prevention articles, reports and resources through to industry news and Club updates.
The refreshed platform reflects Britannia's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, accessible knowledge and support to its Members. In addition to enhancing the service provided to Members, the website also serves as a comprehensive knowledge hub for the wider maritime community, bringing together a wealth of educational materials, guidance and publications designed to support safe and effective operations across the industry. Loss prevention is a core service for P&I clubs: as mutual associations owned by their shipowner and charterer Members, the clubs mutualise claims costs, which gives clubs and their Members a shared interest in helping crews avoid incidents in the first place. Much of the practical guidance clubs publish, on topics such as navigation, cargo handling and regulatory compliance, is also made available to the wider industry, and the redesign makes that body of material easier to search and browse.
Britannia, one of the oldest protection and indemnity (P&I) mutual clubs, was founded in 1855 and is based in London. P&I clubs provide shipowners with cover for third-party liabilities, such as cargo loss and damage, pollution, personal injury and collision claims beyond hull policies, which commercial hull insurers historically did not cover. Britannia is a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs, the association of 13 clubs that collectively insure around 90% of the world's ocean-going tonnage and share large claims through a pooling arrangement backed by collective reinsurance. Open knowledge platforms such as the new website are part of how these clubs support standards across the industry as a whole, not only for their own Members.
Mike Hall, CEO of the Britannia Group, said: “We are delighted to introduce our new website, which has been designed to meet the needs of our Members and the broader maritime community more effectively. The enhanced functionality and layout make accessing useful and insightful information much quicker and easier. This platform will not only provide information to support our Members in their day-to-day operations but also act as a valuable educational resource for anyone working within the industry.”
The new website is available at britanniapandi.com, and a demo video can be viewed at britanniapandi.com/welcome-to-the-new-britannia-website. Members and other maritime professionals can follow the site's loss prevention and industry news sections for new guidance and Club updates as they are published.
