BlueGrace Logistics Acquires Idaho-Based 3PL Truk TMS

Managed logistics provider BlueGrace Logistics has acquired Idaho-based third-party logistics provider Truk TMS. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal is the latest in a wave of consolidation across the 3PL sector, where private equity-backed firms are acquiring regional brokers to expand geographic reach, gain freight volume, and deploy unified technology platforms across a larger customer base.

Truk TMS had previously operated as a BlueGrace partner. Following the acquisition, the company will be integrated into BlueGrace's legacy operations and gain full access to its technology platform, which leverages data to improve logistics outcomes.

"Truk TMS has operated as one of our most trusted partners, and this acquisition is simply the natural next step in that relationship," said Bobby Harris, BlueGrace founder and CEO. "Bringing them fully into the BlueGrace family means their customers get full access to our Managed Logistics platform, our technology, our carrier network, and our scale, without losing the service they've always counted on."

Truk TMS is a freight broker specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. The company also provides shippers with truckload and supply chain services across North America, with a heavy concentration in the Pacific Northwest. The region serves as a key freight corridor, with ports in Seattle and Tacoma handling significant volumes of transpacific cargo.

"Becoming part of BlueGrace formally is a proud moment for our whole team," said Truk TMS CEO Mark Barnes. "Our customers get the same team and the same service they've always counted on, now backed by BlueGrace's full Managed Logistics platform and the trusted BlueShip technology behind it."

Tampa, Florida-based BlueGrace serves more than 10,000 customers through nine offices across the U.S. and Mexico. Its BlueShip platform connects over 250,000 carriers and provides LTL, truckload (TL), reefer, and multimodal transportation services. BlueGrace is a portfolio company of private equity firm Warburg Pincus.

The acquisition continues BlueGrace's expansion strategy. Last year, the company acquired Michigan-based 3PL STB Freight Group and Florida-based broker FreightCenter.
