Bitget and UNICEF Launch Free Financial Literacy Module Featuring Blockchain Education for Young Learners

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has partnered with UNICEF to launch a new online financial literacy module within the Game Changers Coalition curriculum, applying its blockchain expertise to help young learners grasp financial fundamentals and the technologies shaping the digital financial system.

The module, titled Introduction to Financial Literacy, reflects how financial education has evolved beyond budgeting and interest rates to encompass how value is exchanged and managed in digital environments. By combining foundational financial concepts with an introduction to blockchain, the course is designed to give learners insight into both the existing financial system and the innovations influencing its development.

Built as an interactive, self-paced online course, the programme features short video lessons, visual learning materials and quizzes covering topics such as supply and demand, budgeting, credit, loans, interest rates and blockchain fundamentals. Learners who complete the course receive a certificate, and the module is available free of charge through Agora, UNICEF's learning platform.

A game-based component, Neon Paycheck, serves as the entry point to the course. Set in a futuristic city, the game casts players as a young person making everyday financial decisions about earning, spending, planning and avoiding scams, translating financial concepts into choices with immediate consequences. The approach aligns with the Coalition's broader use of video game development to make complex skills practical and engaging.

Bitget contributed to the curriculum's blockchain chapters, presenting digital assets and blockchain concepts in a practical, accessible and balanced manner. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen also appears throughout the module, guiding learners through key blockchain ideas and their place within the wider financial ecosystem.

"Education has always been important to me. It is one of the reasons I continue teaching as an adjunct professor at HKUST," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, in a written statement. "I've seen how quickly young people learn when they're given the right tools and opportunities. That's why our work with UNICEF is about making those concepts accessible early so young people can build the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions as the system evolves," she added.

Expanding Reach Through the Game Changers Coalition

The launch marks the latest step in Bitget's ongoing collaboration with UNICEF. In 2025, Bitget joined forces with UNICEF Luxembourg to support the Game Changers Coalition, an initiative focused on equipping young people — particularly girls — with future-ready skills.

The Coalition has since engaged more than 642,000 young people, parents and teachers across eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco and South Africa. Expansion to Bolivia, Bangladesh and Indonesia is planned for 2026.

The financial literacy module forms part of the Coalition's wider future-ready curriculum, which also covers artificial intelligence and video game development for young people in emerging economies.

"Young people are growing up in a rapidly changing financial and digital environment. Equipping them with the knowledge and skills to understand this environment can help them make informed decisions and better prepare for their futures," said Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, in a written statement. "Through the Game Changers Coalition and our partnership with Bitget, we are helping make financial literacy education practical, accessible and engaging for young people," she added.

As digital assets become increasingly intertwined with traditional finance, understanding how these systems operate is emerging as an essential component of financial literacy. Through educational initiatives alongside product innovation, Bitget says it aims to reduce barriers to participation and equip more people with the knowledge needed to navigate the future of finance.
