Bitget received two CFD-related industry awards at Wiki Finance Expo Hong Kong 2026 as the company continues to expand its Universal Exchange (UEX) ecosystem, a trading model designed to connect digital assets with traditional financial markets. The recognition comes as several major crypto exchanges have been racing to offer traditional financial products alongside digital assets, blurring the lines between the two sectors.
The exchange was named Outstanding All-Asset Innovation Platform – Global and Leading Innovative Trading Platform – Asia. According to Bitget, the awards recognize its work in CFD trading, multi-asset products, and broader market access as it develops services beyond crypto trading. Contracts for difference, or CFDs, are derivative instruments that allow traders to speculate on price movements of underlying assets without owning them directly, and have long been a staple of traditional online brokerage. Bitget also outlined the awards and its UEX strategy in an official blog post:
Bitget Broadens Its Trading Offering Beyond Crypto
Bitget has been expanding its product lineup beyond cryptocurrencies by offering access to tokenized equities, commodities, forex, indices, and other products linked to traditional finance through a single trading platform. The push reflects a broader industry trend in which tokenization of real-world assets has become one of the most prominent growth narratives in digital finance, with institutions and exchanges exploring ways to bring traditional securities and commodities onto blockchain-based infrastructure.
The company says its Universal Exchange model is intended to reduce the complexity of trading across multiple asset classes. Rather than requiring separate platforms, accounts, and funding systems for different markets, Bitget says users can access a range of markets within one ecosystem.
Lewis Huang, CFD Chief Analyst at Bitget, said the increasing number of investment opportunities has made unified trading infrastructure more important for market participants.
“Markets have never offered more opportunity. Yet many traders are unable to respond efficiently across these markets—not because they lack ideas, but because their trading infrastructure is fragmented,” Huang said.
Huang Addresses Cross-Asset Trading at the Expo
Alongside the awards, Huang represented Bitget in two sessions at Wiki Finance Expo Hong Kong 2026, part of a series of financial industry expos held across Asia that bring together brokerages, exchanges, fintech firms, and regulators. He delivered a keynote titled “One Account, Global Investment: The Cross-Asset Trading Revolution in the UEX Era.”
In the keynote, Huang discussed how unified access to multiple markets could influence the design of modern trading platforms. He also joined a panel discussion titled “Institutional Liquidity and the Evolution of Crypto Markets.”
That panel examined how liquidity, trading infrastructure, and product design are evolving as traditional finance and digital assets become more closely connected.
Bitget Emphasizes Unified Trading Infrastructure
Huang said many investors now manage portfolios that include cryptocurrencies, commodities, forex, and equities. However, he said they continue to face operational challenges because those assets are commonly traded through separate accounts and capital pools.
According to Huang, the Universal Exchange model allows users to trade multiple asset classes from a single account. He said this structure can improve capital efficiency and reduce barriers between markets.
“The future of trading should be borderless, frictionless, and all-encompassing,” Huang said.
He added that Web3’s speed and round-the-clock liquidity can complement the scale and maturity of traditional financial markets.
UEX Remains Central to Bitget’s Growth Strategy
Bitget said the two awards support its effort to move from a crypto-focused exchange toward a more comprehensive multi-asset trading platform. The company said its UEX initiative is designed to bring digital assets and traditional financial products together in one trading ecosystem. The expansion into CFDs and tokenized traditional assets also places Bitget in more direct competition with established online brokers and multi-asset fintech platforms, a shift that will likely draw attention from regulators in jurisdictions where crypto exchanges have historically operated under different rules than licensed brokerages.
Bitget said the strategy is intended to address growing demand for integrated cross-market investment solutions as users seek access to multiple asset classes through unified infrastructure.
