WLFI Rises Double Digits as Bitcoin Trades Below $66,000

Bitcoin’s advance from earlier in the week lost momentum over the past 36 hours, with the asset briefly moving toward $65,000 before finding support near that level.

Most large-cap altcoins were little changed over the past 24 hours, with WLFI standing out after posting a double-digit gain.

Bitcoin Stabilizes Below $66,000

Bitcoin faced another rejection at the end of the previous business week after climbing to $65,600 a few days earlier following favorable U.S. CPI data for June. CPI readings are closely watched across risk assets because they help shape expectations for U.S. monetary policy, a factor that often affects liquidity conditions for crypto markets. After sellers stepped in, BTC declined to $62,500 on Friday.

The pullback proved short-lived, and the cryptocurrency recovered to $64,000 over the weekend. It later tested $65,000 on Monday morning but was rejected again. That retracement was more limited, taking bitcoin down to $63,750.

Buyers re-entered at that point and drove several consecutive moves higher, culminating on Tuesday morning in a surge to $67,000. That marked bitcoin’s highest price in more than a month. However, BTC failed to break above that level and later slipped to $65,600 on Wednesday and $65,300 earlier today.

The move to $65,300 provided support, and bitcoin has since steadied just below $66,000. Its market capitalization has stalled under $1.320 trillion, while its dominance over altcoins has declined to 56.5% on CoinGecko. Bitcoin dominance is commonly used to gauge whether market activity is concentrating in BTC or spreading into alternative cryptocurrencies.

BCAP Leads With a 360% Gain

The top 100 altcoins by market capitalization have a new entrant today, and it is also the largest gainer on CoinGecko. Blockchain Capital’s BCAP has surged by more than 360% over the past 24 hours to $106. CoinGecko, however, reports $0 in trading volume, while the token’s market capitalization has approached $1 billion. A reported move with no listed trading volume can be harder to compare with actively traded tokens, since market-cap rankings depend on available supply and pricing data.

Among more established altcoins, WLFI recorded the strongest move, rising by more than 11% to $0.063. STABEL also posted gains, while HBAR and UNI each advanced by around 4%.

Most other larger-cap altcoins recorded gains of up to 2%, including XMR. BCH, XLM, CC, and TRX, by contrast, were slightly lower.

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization remained broadly flat at just over $2.3 trillion on CoinGecko.
