Ben&Ben releases Limasawa Street on CD and vinyl

Nearly a decade into their career, Ben&Ben — one of the Philippines' most popular folk-pop acts — has issued a physical release of their acclaimed 2019 debut studio album, Limasawa Street. The record, now available on CD and vinyl, introduced the band's expansive, lush take on folk-pop. It was remastered for vinyl and CD by Grammy-award-winning sound engineer Jett Galindo, whose credits include work at The Mastering Lab in Los Angeles. FEU short film Ani named Best Film at 16th Binisaya Film Festival

Ani, a short film by Far Eastern University (FEU) Department of Communication alumna Ayessa Tan, has won the Best Film award under the Binisaya Horizons category at the 16th Binisaya International Film Festival, a Cebu-based festival that spotlights films from and about the Visayas and Mindanao. Written and directed by Ms. Tan, a Cavite-based filmmaker and FEU Manila graduate, Ani explores pressing social issues surrounding agricultural workers and systemic anti-corruption efforts. Before its win in Cebu, the short film earned critical acclaim at FEU's Sinepiyu XVIII, the university's long-running student film festival. It will next be screened as part of the 13th Nabunturan Independent Film Exhibition, a Compostela Valley festival known for supporting regional independent cinema.

JENNIE reveals a more personal side on new EP

K-pop star JENNIE, a member of BLACKPINK who has also built a solo recording career, has released her new EP, Fallen Angel, a deeply personal collection of songs. The three-track digital EP features the title track "FALLEN ANGEL," along with "HEAVEN" and "Less than a Lover," each offering a glimpse into the inner world behind JENNIE's glamorous exterior. The physical CD edition will include three additional exclusive tracks — "sweettooth," "lockitdown," and "Face." The EP is out now on all digital music streaming platforms.

Philippines to bring Mindoro to Yeosu 2026

The Philippines will present Puerto Galera and Mindoro Island at the World Island Fair Yeosu Korea 2026 through an immersive exhibition combining contemporary art, Indigenous heritage, marine biodiversity, wildlife conservation, and live performance. Among the 30 participating islands, the Philippine pavilion will invite visitors to experience Mindoro, home to the Mangyan peoples and to Puerto Galera, a diving destination designated a Most Beautiful Bay. Produced by D'ABOVILLE Foundation & Demo Farm, Inc. and Puerto Galera Most Beautiful Bay, Inc., the pavilion is curated by Maïa d'Aboville, executive director of both organizations. From Sept. 27–28, the Philippine presentation will move to Yeosu's main outdoor stage for Island Friends Day, where Daloy Dance Company, led by artistic director and choreographer Ea Torrado, will present Agos, a new live performance developed for Yeosu in dialogue with Ea Torrado's original film Bari-Bari.

The Love Hypothesis to stream globally on Prime Video

On Sept. 23, Prime Video will stream The Love Hypothesis, based on Ali Hazelwood's bestselling novel of the same name. The story follows ambitious PhD candidate Olive, who impulsively enters a fake relationship with intimidating professor Adam Carlsen to convince her best friend she is over an old crush. As their carefully planned arrangement begins to feel unexpectedly real, Olive must decide whether love is a risk worth taking. The adaptation joins a wave of book-to-screen romances as streaming platforms continue to invest in the genre. The film will be available on Prime Video in the Philippines and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

IAM Worldwide marks 9th anniversary with 9RACE festival

IAM Worldwide is celebrating its ninth anniversary with "9RACE" (GRACE), a music festival featuring major artists including Secondhand Serenade, Apl.de.Ap, IYAZ, KZ Tandingan, TJ Monterde, and Dionela — a lineup mixing international acts with leading Filipino performers.
