Real Madrid are preparing to secure one of European football's most exciting young talents for the better part of a decade. Arda Güler, the 21-year-old Turkish midfielder who arrived from Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2023, is expected to sign a contract extension that would keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2031.

Transfermarkt currently values Güler at €90 million, with an estimated transfer value range of €73 million to €89 million — a considerable rise from the original €20 million acquisition fee.

Fenerbahçe hold a 20% sell-on clause from the original 2023 transfer. Should Real Madrid ever sell Güler above his purchase price, the Istanbul club would be entitled to a fifth of the profit.

A contract running to 2031 would substantially raise the exit cost for any club attempting to sign Güler in the years ahead. Chelsea's reported nine-figure bids, however, indicate that some clubs remain willing to pay a premium regardless.
