Anchorage Digital Partners With Securitize to Bring Federally Issued Stablecoins to Tokenized Assets

Anchorage Digital has entered a partnership with Securitize to offer direct stablecoin minting and redemption services to institutional investors trading tokenized assets, according to an official announcement.

Under the agreement, Securitize will mint and redeem stablecoins directly through Anchorage Digital Bank, a federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, without relying on third-party intermediaries. Anchorage Digital Bank will also manage custody and settlement, allowing institutions to access stablecoins issued under federal oversight through a single banking provider. Anchorage Digital Bank received the first national trust charter for a digital asset bank from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in January 2021.

The deal expands settlement infrastructure for Securitize, which supports more than $4 billion in tokenized assets through partnerships with BlackRock, Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR, and VanEck.

Expanding regulated stablecoin infrastructure

Anchorage Digital Bank's stablecoin ecosystem includes USDtb, issued in partnership with Ethena Labs, and USA₮, developed with Tether. The new arrangement also strengthens the connection between stablecoins and tokenized traditional financial assets.

BlackRock's BUIDL fund, tokenized through Securitize and launched in March 2024 as the asset manager's first tokenized fund, serves as a major reserve asset backing USDtb. As of August 31, approximately 99% of USDtb's $530 million in reserves were held in BUIDL, according to Anchorage Digital Bank's reserve report.

Nathan McCauley, cofounder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, said the agreement would allow institutions to access federally issued digital dollars through the same infrastructure supporting tokenized investment products. The emphasis on federally issued digital dollars follows the GENIUS Act, signed into law in July 2025, which established the first comprehensive federal framework for payment stablecoins in the United States.

Securitize, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ, has expanded its institutional tokenization business through partnerships with major asset managers and financial institutions. In March, the company announced a partnership with the New York Stock Exchange to develop infrastructure for trading tokenized securities, including stocks and exchange-traded funds.

The latest agreement extends Securitize's infrastructure beyond tokenized securities to the stablecoins used to settle transactions, as financial institutions continue exploring blockchain technology for traditional financial markets.
