Atkinson said the latest FDA milestone supports what he described as “a really good portfolio” for the Australian pharmaceutical distributor.
“We now have eight patented products, some are always arguably going to be bigger than others… but, there’s so many interesting projects,” he said in the interview. “We have some really good R&D projects underway.”
He said the sequence matters because it shows the company has already taken more than one product from idea to regulated market entry, with the latest approval adding another distinct program to the mix. For a pharma business, that kind of repeatability can be as important as a single headline milestone, since development progress often depends on proving a platform can work across multiple candidates rather than one-off successes.
“We have a good indication now that we can succeed. The first two projects were Maxigesic Rapid Tablets and then Maxigesic IV, and now we’ve added a completely different product on as well, so I think people can see that we can convert our ideas and products into something that’s actually tangible.”
