Adani Energy Solutions Wins ₹4,700 Crore Maharashtra Transmission Project to Evacuate 4,500 MW of Renewable Power

Adani Energy Solutions has secured a transmission project in Maharashtra valued at ₹4,700 crore, tasked with evacuating up to 4,500 MW of renewable power in the state.

The project, officially titled "Network Expansion Scheme in Western Region to Cater to Pumped Storage Potential near Satara (up to 4500 MW) – Part A", was awarded through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, with Adani Energy Solutions emerging as the lowest bidder. TBCB is the standard mechanism used in India for awarding transmission contracts, under which developers compete on tariff and the lowest bidder builds and operates the project, providing a regulated return over the contract period.

The scheme is tied to pumped storage potential near Satara, a form of hydro-based storage that India is increasingly counting on to balance its growing renewable energy capacity, since solar and wind output varies through the day and transmission links are needed to move large blocks of power from generation sites to demand centres.

With this latest win, the company's transmission order book has risen to ₹85,000 crore, reflecting its expanding role in India's power transmission sector as the country scales up renewable capacity toward its target of 500 GW of non-fossil installed capacity by 2030.
