The Russian international settlement system A7, created by Bank PSB, is set to present A7 International on October 13, a new service that enables customers to pay a foreign counterparty's invoice in USDT, with the funds arriving via a standard SWIFT bank transfer in the required currency.
USDT, the USD-pegged stablecoin issued by Tether, is the largest stablecoin by market capitalization and one of the most widely used instruments for moving dollar-denominated value across borders, as transfers settle on public blockchains around the clock. SWIFT is the standard messaging network that banks worldwide use to exchange payment instructions for international transfers. A7 International bridges the two rails: the invoice is paid in USDT, while the beneficiary receives funds through a conventional SWIFT bank transfer in the required currency. For the receiving side, that means the payout lands as a standard bank credit in the counterparty's account, with no need for the beneficiary to hold or convert a stablecoin.
According to the announcement the service will cater primarily to foreign trade operators, though individuals are also eligible customers. The fee remains fixed at 0.3 percent.
Petr Fradkov, Chairman of PJSC Bank PSB, and Ilan Shor, CEO of A7, will provide a glimpse into the new offering during a live presentation on October 13 at 13:13. The announcement did not specify which currencies will be supported on the payout leg or when the service will become generally available; the October 13 broadcast is the announced venue for further details.
