日本最大的炼油公司Eneos已购买一批罕见的加拿大原油，这标志着该国在推动石油供应来源摆脱中东方面迈出重要一步。
据Reuters援引Kpler和LSEG的船舶追踪数据报道，这是自2025年以来日本公司首次购买加拿大原油。该批货物装载在一艘Aframax油轮上，运力为750,000桶。卖方为Exxon。
Kpler高级分析师Richard Ro对Reuters表示：“Japan's renewed purchases of TMX crude highlight Canada's growing role in Asia's evolving import strategy as refiners diversify away from Middle East Gulf supplies,”
加拿大原油通过Trans Mountain管道进入亚洲市场，该管道终点位于不列颠哥伦比亚省海岸。自2024年以来，该管道一直以其原先890,000桶/日运力的约两倍水平运行，因为加拿大石油生产商正寻求在亚洲市场占据更大份额。2024年完工、长期延误的TMX扩建项目，使阿尔伯塔省生产商首次获得对太平洋盆地买家的重要直接通道，减少了对美国墨西哥湾沿岸作为主要出口路线的依赖。
中东持续存在的原油出口中断，提升了加拿大原油的吸引力，尤其是对日本这样的国家。冲突发生前，日本超过90%的原油来自中东产油国。作为全球第四大石油消费国，日本几乎进口其加工的全部原油，因此供应链韧性已成为该国炼油业的核心战略优先事项。
自战争爆发以来，日本一直在积极寻求替代供应来源，包括美国和俄罗斯。并非只有日本转向加拿大原油——印度、马来西亚和新加坡也在购买来自阿尔伯塔省、经Trans Mountain管道运往海岸的石油。据Reuters报道，自今年年初以来，温哥华港总石油出口中多达77%流向亚洲。这一比例高于2024年的51%，当时TMX在更高运力下开始运营。
受海外对加拿大原油强劲需求推动，Trans Mountain Corp.今年早些时候表示，正考虑进一步提高该管道运力，潜在可提升至每日1.2 million barrels。Eneos的做法是否会被更多日本炼油商效仿，将成为加拿大作为面向太平洋原油供应方地位能否持续确立的关键信号。
