By funding annual scholarships in honor of the public safety unions we proudly serve, we are helping create educational opportunities for the spouses and children of those who have sacrificed so much for our communities.”

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military service members. Since 2022, the organization has also extended that support to the families of first responders, a broader focus that has helped chapters like New England tie local fundraising directly to families in the public safety community.

Service Credit Union’s partnership is one of the most significant commitments the chapter has received since its launch in May 2024, and it expands the organization’s ability to serve first responder communities across New England.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, Folds of Honor New England awarded 14 scholarships to first responder families in the region. The chapter said the new partnership will help expand the number of available scholarships and broaden its impact across New England.

Each scholarship will assist a qualified recipient pursuing any level of education or a skilled-trade pathway, reflecting the chapter’s focus on both traditional college access and other training routes that can lead to careers.
