Strive Expands Bitcoin Treasury Position
Strive adopted Bitcoin as a treasury asset in September 2025, joining a growing group of public companies that have used the cryptocurrency as a corporate reserve rather than a short-term trading position. Since then, the company has funded its buying plan with capital raised through stock sales.
Under its approved capital program, Strive can raise up to $4.2 billion. The company plans to direct much of that capital toward additional Bitcoin purchases as cash becomes available.
In January 2026, Strive completed its merger with Semler Scientific. The all-stock transaction added more than 5,000 BTC to the company’s balance sheet without using cash. The merger structure also left Strive with room to finance new purchases and gave it access to cash raised through sales of ASST and SATA shares.
Cash Position Supports Further Purchases
In July, Strive reported cash reserves of $157.4 million, up from $154.1 million. The company also posted a quarterly net loss of $393.6 million.
Strive has said it focuses on increasing Bitcoin per share rather than only expanding the total size of its holdings. That metric matters for market observers because it shows how much Bitcoin backs each share as the company continues to use financing tools to build its treasury. Its approach is similar to Strategy, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
Strategy holds more than 843,000 BTC, while Twenty One Capital owns over 43,500 BTC. Metaplanet holds about 43,000 BTC but has paused purchases.
Some other companies have reduced their exposure. Satsuma Technology sold 579 BTC in December and approved the sale of its remaining 668 BTC this month. Smarter Web Company and Nakamoto have also sold part of their reserves.
Strategy paused purchases as Strive continued adding Bitcoin to its treasury.
