PSA Singapore (PSA) has reached a significant operational milestone, handling 25 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) at Tuas Port since the facility began operations in September 2022. The figure reflects the continued ramp-up of activity at the world's largest fully automated container terminal and highlights the port's increasing role as a critical node in global trade. When fully developed by 2040 across four phases, Tuas Port is designed to handle up to 65 million TEU annually—more than double Singapore's total container throughput in recent years—consolidating the city-state's container operations from its legacy city terminals into a single mega-terminal.

Amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and evolving maritime trade patterns, including recent disruptions to Red Sea shipping routes that have reshaped vessel schedules and increased demand for reliable transhipment hubs, Tuas Port serves as a vital gateway for resilient, reliable, and efficient cargo flows. Singapore has long ranked among the world's busiest container ports, and the consolidation at Tuas is central to maintaining that position as competing hubs across Asia and the Middle East invest heavily in capacity expansion. Tuas also functions as a key pillar of PSA Group's "Node to Network" strategy, linking the company's transhipment capabilities in Singapore with its broader global port ecosystem. This integration provides customers with greater flexibility, enhanced connectivity, and more efficient end-to-end supply chain solutions.

Tuas Port currently operates 14 berths and is on track to expand to 18 by 2027. The phased build-out will progressively absorb operations from PSA's existing terminals at Pasir Panjang and Brani as those leases expire. PSA continues to advance sustainable and smart technologies—including fully automated yard cranes and truck-less terminal operations—to raise benchmarks in operational, service, and environmental excellence.
