Aevo Brings PERPS+ to Mobile With Full Desktop Feature Parity
Key Takeaways
- •PERPS+ is now available on Aevo’s mobile platform, extending the feature from desktop to the app on iOS and Android.
- •The feature currently supports BTC and ETH perpetual futures and lets users choose from three risk-structure modes at trade entry.
- •Aevo uses a custom Ethereum layer-2 with off-chain order matching and on-chain settlement to support decentralized derivatives trading.
- •Aevo said AEVO completed its final scheduled unlock in mid-2025 and has no remaining vesting cliffs or pending investor tranches.
- •A monthly buyback and burn program funded by exchange trading revenue has removed 74 million AEVO from circulation to date.

Aevo, a decentralized derivatives exchange that says it has processed more than $10 billion in options volume since 2020, has launched PERPS+ across its mobile platform, extending the feature beyond desktop access.
PERPS+ is designed to add protection to a perpetual futures position when the trade is entered. Perpetual futures are widely used in crypto markets because they allow leveraged long or short exposure without a fixed expiry date, but managing downside risk typically requires separate tools or active position management. A trader selects a mode, sets the relevant parameters, and Aevo constructs and executes the position in a single tap, without requiring the user to manage the options structure directly. With the mobile rollout, Aevo says mobile users now have access to every feature available on its desktop platform.
The Aevo app is available through the App Store and Google Play for the full mobile experience. Aevo said the service is currently not available to U.S. or U.K. persons.
Aevo described the mobile launch as part of its broader effort to simplify risk-defined trading. Previously, entering a position with defined risk often required using an options desk or accepting the fixed terms of a DeFi vault. PERPS+ is intended to make that structure available directly inside a perpetual futures trade.
PERPS+ offers three entry modes
Options traders commonly use instruments to define the maximum loss on a position before a trade opens, receive income while waiting for a move, or set both the upside and downside boundaries of a trade with limited upfront cost. Aevo said many perpetual futures traders do not use these structures because options interfaces require users to manage strikes, expiries, and implied volatility.
PERPS+ removes that layer from the trading flow by offering three enhancers at the point of entry for a perpetual futures trade.
The first, Limit My Loss, defines a hard loss ceiling when the trade opens, while placing no cap on the upside.
The second, Get Paid to Hold, pays an upfront premium to the trader immediately, in exchange for placing a defined ceiling on profits.
The third, Lock My Range, fixes both the floor and the ceiling of a trade for approximately zero upfront cost.
PERPS+ is currently available on BTC and ETH perpetual futures.
Aevo said the feature is aimed at two main groups of users. Perpetual futures traders without options experience can add one-tap protection to positions they intended to open. DeFi vault users can also create structured exposure with their own parameters, rather than accepting the terms set by a vault.
Under the PERPS+ workflow, the trader chooses the protection level, while Aevo handles structuring, pricing, and execution in one tap.
Aevo highlights exchange infrastructure
Aevo said its infrastructure choices were made early in the development of decentralized derivatives trading. The exchange uses a custom Ethereum layer-2 that runs order matching off-chain while settling on-chain. According to Aevo, the setup is intended to provide execution speeds comparable to centralized trading venues while allowing traders to retain custody.
The company said this model has become common across decentralized derivatives platforms, where exchanges try to balance faster order execution with on-chain settlement and user-controlled collateral.
aeUSD is another product Aevo highlighted. The asset was built as yield-bearing trading collateral and has been live in production for close to two years. Aevo said collateral can earn passively whether positions are open or inactive, and described aeUSD as one of the most tested yield-bearing collateral assets in the sector.
Aevo’s products operate through a single cross-margin account. Options, perpetual futures, and structured products share one collateral pool. Aevo said most decentralized venues still cannot replicate that combination at exchange scale.
Mobile trading with desktop parity
Aevo said mobile trading has long allowed users to close positions from a phone, but PERPS+ adds the ability to open a position with a defined floor already in place. For derivatives platforms, mobile parity matters because risk settings, order entry, and collateral management are often split across more complex desktop interfaces. The company said Aevo mobile turns that process into a one-tap action on a mobile derivatives exchange with full desktop parity.
An Aevo spokesperson said: “Onchain options have been called the next big thing every year since 2021. And every year, they've failed to become it… So we thought, what if getting options-level protection felt exactly like trading a perp? That's PERPS+.”
AEVO supply and buyback program
AEVO completed its final scheduled unlock in mid-2025, according to the source. The token is fully distributed, with no vesting cliffs or investor tranches pending.
Exchange trading revenue funds a monthly buyback and burn program that has permanently removed 74 million AEVO from circulation to date. In each cycle, fees are used to buy AEVO on the open market and remove it permanently from circulation.
Stakers receive monthly Uniswap V3 LP positions in the AEVO/USDC pool, with swap fees accruing for as long as those positions are held.
Aevo described the result as a supply that contracts as the exchange earns, with no unlock event remaining on the calendar.
