Qiao Wang: Why I Hold NVIDIA and TSMC but Won't Chase AI Giants' IPOs On October 26, Alliance founder Qiao Wang @QwQiao said during a livestream that he never participates in IPOs and is particularly cautious about companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, which have yet to demonstrate consistent profitability. He believes IPOs involve adverse selection, as sellers control pricing and timing while buyers face significant uncertainty. Rather than buying into IPOs early, he prefers to wait for prices to fall or for companies to establish clearer profitability and competitive advantages. In terms of tech holdings, he still owns shares in NVIDIA, TSMC, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Meta, although his NVIDIA and TSMC positions are significantly smaller than they were three years ago. While he remains confident in the management teams and competitive advantages of NVIDIA and TSMC, he is uncertain about their short-term performance. He also holds Bitcoin and Zcash.
