Pi Network Completes SLICE Testnet Token Distribution Through Pi Launchpad

Pi Network said it has completed the distribution of Slice, its second testnet token, through the Pi Launchpad, and outlined how users, known as Pioneers, can review and explore the token’s related features.

The update follows a testing process that began earlier this year and is intended to let users examine the post-launch experience, including liquidity pool functions and price tracking within the Pi Browser. Because Slice is described by the team as a testnet token, the rollout is separate from trading activity in Pi Network’s official native token, PI, and is focused on testing Launchpad mechanics and user-facing tools.

SLICE Distribution Completed

Pi Network’s testnet token initiatives began on PiDay 2026, March 14, when nearly 480,000 users participated in Launchpad testing. According to the team, that process produced “valuable feedback on the Launchpad mechanism,” which was then used to introduce a simpler participation flow, revised mechanics, and an improved user experience.

Building on that initial round, Pi Network introduced a second testnet token, Slice, in June. Testing for Slice opened on June 12 and continued until June 28, also known as Pi2Day. The team had not issued a detailed SLICE update for almost a month before announcing the completed distribution earlier today.

In a post on X, the Pi Core Team said the testnet token had been successfully distributed and encouraged users to explore the “post-launch experience and see how liquidity pools work through the new price tracking feature.”

The team said the Launchpad app inside the Pi Browser now displays each user’s allocation details, the launch token price, the effective token price, access to the SLICE liquidity pool, and a chart showing changes in Slice’s price relative to test-Pi, the other testnet token. These features give participants a way to review how allocations, pool access, and relative pricing are presented inside the Pi Browser after a test launch has concluded.

PI Price Volatility and Wallet Complaints

Pi Network’s official native token, PI, has seen volatile trading recently, with its price largely moving lower. A couple of weeks ago, the token fell to a new all-time low of $0.07 after losing the $0.10 level.

Following several unsuccessful breakout attempts, PI rose by 20% in a single day last Sunday and tested the same $0.10 level from below. The move did not continue, however, as the level acted as resistance and the token failed to break through.

Another sharp decline occurred yesterday, when PI dropped by more than 10% to $0.082 after warning signs had pointed to a possible rejection.

Separately, some users have complained online about unusual activity in their Pi Wallets. Those complaints included reports of missing tokens and numerous failed transactions to unknown addresses. Against that backdrop, the SLICE update gives users a separate testnet-focused item to review inside the Pi Browser while broader attention remains split between Launchpad testing, PI’s market performance, and wallet-related complaints from parts of the community.
