InterMoor, Acteon’s moorings and anchors brand, has been awarded a new contract by Petrobras to provide inspection, preservation, maintenance and operational readiness services for subsea interconnection, mooring and anchoring materials.
The award is the third contract InterMoor has secured from Petrobras in less than a year, underscoring the long-standing relationship between the two companies.
Under the scope of work, InterMoor will provide integrated services covering a broad range of critical mooring components, including chains, steel wire ropes, anchors, connectors, load collars, anode collars, adapters and other load handling accessories.
The services will support Petrobras’ offshore operations across Brazil’s extensive subsea infrastructure portfolio, where keeping mooring and anchoring equipment in serviceable condition is central to planned maintenance and turnaround work.
The three-year contract includes visual and dimensional inspection of materials and accessories, non-destructive testing such as magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing, and cleaning and surface preparation.
It also covers surface treatment and painting for preservation purposes, maintenance, repair, replacement and reconditioning of anchoring components, as well as handling and transportation where required, together with the storage and preservation of materials.
The project also requires 20,000 sq m of space dedicated exclusively to the temporary storage of Petrobras materials undergoing maintenance at InterMoor’s Açu Port yard, adding on-site logistics capacity to the service package.
“We thank Petrobras for their continued confidence and look forward to supporting safe, efficient and reliable operations across their portfolio. As InterMoor celebrates twenty years in Brazil, it continues to support complex offshore projects with proven local expertise,” said Marcos Passos, general manager at InterMoor in Brazil.
