Harvest Midstream zegt nu te mikken op begin 2029 om te beginnen met LNG-import bij de al lange tijd stilgelegde Kenai-terminal in Alaska, later dan de eerdere doelstelling voor 2028.
Het bedrijf herbestemt de Kenai LNG-faciliteit om te voorzien in de vraag in Alaska’s Railbelt, een belangrijke markt voor stroom en gas in de staat die lange tijd heeft vertrouwd op infrastructuur verspreid over een uitdagende operationele omgeving.
De wijziging in de timing voegt nog een jaar toe aan een project dat bedoeld is om LNG-stromen te herstellen bij een terminal die al jaren buiten gebruik is, en benadrukt de lange doorlooptijden die gepaard gaan met het opnieuw in bedrijf nemen van uitgefaseerde energie-infrastructuur.
