Unserious announced that it has acquired Creepz, one of the most recognizable NFT collections from the 2021-22 cycle.

The acquisition is backed by entrepreneur and investor Adam Weitsman and has the support of the original founders. The deal brings the lizard cult brand under a new team led by Unserious, at a time when established NFT projects are increasingly being evaluated not only as collectibles but also as intellectual-property brands with communities, characters, and potential media or consumer-product extensions.

Unserious said the transaction also marks a homecoming for Psychrome, described as the original mastermind and creative force behind the Creepz lore. Psychrome is returning to lead IP development for the brand. He is also a globally exhibited artist whose commercial collaborations have included Nike, Salomon, Sneaker Con, Staple, Disney, Warner Bros., and Rovio.

Alongside that creative leadership, the Unserious team said it brings operating experience across consumer brands, entertainment, and enterprise technology, as well as a track record connected to major crypto token launches, including ApeCoin. The combination of original creative involvement and new operating support will be a key area for the Creepz community to watch as Unserious develops the brand after the acquisition.

Unserious also said it formally denies the existence of lizard people, their alleged evil activities, and any plans for $CREEPZ world domination.
