OpenAI paused its own model over hacking capability @OpenAI said Friday it cannot rule out critical cyber capability in Astra, an unreleased model, after evaluations this week showed major jumps in agentic coding and cybersecurity. Critical means finding and building working zero-days in hardened real systems with no human in the loop. First time @sama's lab has flagged one of its own models at that tier.

BIP-110 Minority Fork Falls 18 Blocks Behind Bitcoin Main Chain A minority fork backed by BIP-110 supporters emerged after Bitcoin block height 961,632. The BIP-110-supporting pool Roughnecks had produced only blocks 961,632 and 961,633, while the Bitcoin chain had advanced to block 961,651, putting it 18 blocks ahead. The split coincided with Bitcoin’s mining difficulty adjusting to 127.48 T. Because the BIP-110 chain has far less hash power while operating at the same difficulty, its block production has slowed. BIP-110 supporter Matthew Kratter acknowledged that the minority chain would require a “massive change” to overtake the main chain, while some supporters have begun discussing a switch to a proof-of-work algorithm.
