Chainlink Whales Accumulate Over 14 Million LINK in Three Weeks Amid Steady Holder Growth

Author: Crypto Adventure·

Key Takeaways

  • Large Chainlink wallets accumulated more than 14 million LINK over the past three weeks during a period of relatively flat price movement, according to Santiment data cited by analyst Ali Martinez.
  • Santiment recorded a record 805 wallets holding at least 100,000 LINK on May 25, representing an 8.2% increase over seven weeks.
  • Ethereum-based non-empty LINK wallets reached an all-time high of 900,000 by July 13, with over 20,000 new holders added in the preceding month.
  • Chainlink's CCIP processed more than $18 billion in the first quarter, with transfer activity rising 78% quarter-over-quarter and 319% year-over-year.
  • Wallet-balance metrics cannot distinguish between open-market purchases, custody reorganizations, internal transfers, or address reclassification, meaning whale accumulation should be assessed alongside exchange flows and protocol usage rather than as a standalone indicator.
Chainlink Whales Accumulate Over 14 Million LINK in Three Weeks Amid Steady Holder Growth

Large Chainlink wallets have added more than 14 million LINK over the past three weeks, according to Santiment data shared by analyst Ali Martinez. The buildup extended a broader trend of rising balances among major LINK holders during a period of relatively subdued price movement.

Martinez characterized the accumulation as a potential indicator of strengthening confidence among large holders. However, wallet-balance metrics track shifts within defined ownership tiers without distinguishing between open-market purchases, custody reorganizations, internal transfers, or address reclassification. For that reason, whale-balance changes are typically read alongside exchange flows, address growth, transaction activity, and protocol usage rather than as a standalone market signal.

Santiment's dedicated LINK large-holder chart monitors balances held by addresses containing between 100,000 and 10 million LINK, alongside transactions valued above $1 million.

Whale Balances Extend Earlier Accumulation

The three-week increase builds on a wider expansion in Chainlink's large-wallet population. On May 25, Santiment recorded a record 805 wallets holding at least 100,000 LINK, representing an 8.2% increase over seven weeks.

A separate May reading showed that addresses holding between 100,000 and 10 million LINK accumulated 32.93 million tokens within a single month. This cohort raised its collective balance by 7.7% during that period, even as LINK traded near multi-month lows.

Whale activity has also surfaced through individual exchange outflows. Earlier this year, several large wallets withdrew hundreds of thousands of LINK from Binance around the time the Bitwise Chainlink ETF commenced trading. One address accumulated 342,557 LINK across two separate withdrawals, while another removed 207,328 LINK from the exchange.

Chainlink Wallet Growth Reaches New High

The accumulation has paralleled broader growth across Chainlink's holder base. By July 13, Santiment recorded 900,000 non-empty LINK wallets on Ethereum, with more than 20,000 new holders added during the preceding month.

Chainlink also posted its three strongest network-growth days of 2026 between June 25 and June 27, when 8,903 new addresses were created across that three-day window.

Network adoption has continued advancing through Chainlink's infrastructure offerings. Chainlink is widely used for decentralized oracle services, which connect blockchains with external data and systems, while its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is designed to support messaging and value transfer across blockchain networks. CCIP processed more than $18 billion during the first quarter, with transfer activity increasing 78% quarter-over-quarter and 319% year-over-year. This expansion previously left Chainlink's network growth outpacing LINK's price performance as CCIP usage, token support, and fee revenue all climbed.

Santiment's latest holder update placed Ethereum-based non-empty LINK wallets at an all-time high of 900,000.
