Bitcoin continued to fluctuate near the $65,000 level as market analysts pointed to several short-term support and resistance zones that traders are monitoring closely.

According to Coinbase and TradingView data, Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, dropped as low as $65,484 during the day. At that level, Bitcoin remained about 50% below its all-time high of more than $125,000, which it reached in October 2025.

With the market still looking for direction, analysts said both macroeconomic developments and technical indicators are likely to play an important role in upcoming price movements. Federal Reserve interest rate decisions have historically been a catalyst for risk asset markets, including cryptocurrencies, as shifts in monetary policy affect liquidity conditions and investor appetite for higher-risk assets.

Maxime Seiler, co-founder and CEO of STS Digital, said the $70,000 to $72,000 range is a critical area for a potential upward move by the end of the month. Seiler said the first major resistance zone Bitcoin would need to clear is between $67,000 and $68,000. In a downside scenario, he identified $60,000 as the most important support level for investors.

Seiler also said attention is centered on the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for July 28-29. According to Seiler, the Fed's interest rate decision and accompanying messages could be decisive in determining whether Bitcoin breaks above or below its current trading range. He also cited continued inflows into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds as another development that should be closely watched. Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which U.S. regulators approved in January 2024, have become a key conduit for institutional and retail capital into Bitcoin, and their flow trends are now widely tracked as a barometer of broader market demand.

Julio Moreno, research director at CryptoQuant, gave a similar assessment. Moreno said $64,000 represents strong short-term support, while $72,000 remains an important resistance level. He noted that these levels are based on on-chain cost data — blockchain-based analysis tracking the average acquisition price of Bitcoin holders — and currently stand out as reliable technical indicators in the bear market.

Tim Enneking, managing partner of Psalion, said Bitcoin may have established a strong base around the $60,000 level after months of volatility. However, Enneking added that the possibility of a final downward move similar to the 2022 bear market should not be completely dismissed. The 2022 crypto downturn was marked by a cascade of high-profile industry failures, including the collapse of the FTX exchange, which contributed to a sharp loss of investor confidence.

Analysts said that if Bitcoin moves above the $67,000 resistance level in the coming days, the upward trend could gain strength. Conversely, a loss of the $60,000 support level could bring renewed selling pressure. As a result, both technical price levels and messages from the upcoming Fed meeting are being viewed as critical factors for the cryptocurrency market's short-term direction.
