Zcash Price Breaks Key Resistance Levels as ZEC Targets $900

Zcash price continues to consolidate a strong rally after breaking out of several key resistance zones, setting up for a move toward another historical supply area.

With the breakout, the asset’s short-term momentum has improved, while attention has returned to its longer-term structure, where technical indicators suggest the cryptocurrency is approaching an important decision zone. For traders watching established market levels, the current move stands out because ZEC has moved well beyond its earlier breakout points, making the $850 to $900 area the next technical test rather than just another stop along the way.

As of the time of writing, Zcash price is $870.72, with 24-hour trading volume at $6.35 billion and market capitalization at $14.67 billion. ZEC rose 4.17% over the past 24 hours, and its market dominance reached 0.55%. With the latest move, Zcash is now close to its historical resistance range of $850 to $900.

Zcash Price Breaks Key Resistance Levels

Zcash recently broke above resistance zones at $570, $600, and $640, signaling stronger buying momentum.

The move followed a breakout from the daily triangle formation that had developed since June. From a technical perspective, the breakout helped accelerate the active impulse wave and set up an upside move toward $675.

The current structure also resembles earlier Zcash market cycles. Crypto analyst Crypto Patel pointed to the 2017-2018 rally, when Zcash rose from around $22 to $900 before falling about 98%.

In 2020-2021, ZEC climbed from $18.50 to $372 before declining about 96% during the distribution period.

According to Patel, the recent Zcash rally began from an accumulation phase near $15.85 in July 2024, when ZEC started moving toward its current levels.

The analyst also referenced Grayscale’s spot Zcash ETF, which began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25. The listing adds a new market catalyst by making institutional exposure more accessible.

Zcash Buyers Eye Decisive $900 Breakout

Patel warned, however, that Zcash is now trading inside a historically significant resistance zone between $850 and $900. The RSI has also formed bearish divergence, indicating that momentum has not fully confirmed the latest price expansion.

That combination could increase volatility and make additional gains harder to sustain without a clear breakout above resistance.

For market participants, $900 has become a key technical threshold. A decisive breakout followed by sustained support above that level could alter the current technical picture and reinforce the bullish structure.

By contrast, rejection near resistance could increase selling pressure and expose ZEC to a deeper correction after its strong advance.

Zcash’s next move therefore depends heavily on whether buyers can turn the $850 to $900 zone into support. The immediate technical target highlighted by the bullish setup remains $675, although ZEC has already moved above that level. Investors are watching volume, momentum confirmation, and price behavior around $900 rather than relying only on the recent breakout.
