XRP Rallies 53% in One Week as U.S. Spot ETFs Record Best Weekly Inflows Since May

XRP, the native asset of the XRP Ledger and a token Ripple uses in its cross-border payments products, posted one of its strongest weekly moves in months, gaining around 53% in a single weekly candle and reaching a nearly seven-month high near $1.54. The rally has refocused attention on the $1.55 level as the immediate resistance to watch, while the $1.45 zone has emerged as short-term support.

CoinMarketCap data showed the token trading near $1.47 on Aug. 24, with a daily range between $1.46 and $1.54. The move brought XRP back to a level that has previously slowed momentum. Analyst Ash Crypto called the high a nearly seven-month peak, while analyst Pumpius noted that the rally started from a low near $0.985.

Analyst Crypto Patel identified $1.55 as the immediate resistance level. He said a sustained close above that zone could extend the bullish move, while a rejection there could pull the price back toward lower support areas.

$XRP JUST BROKE 7 MONTHS OF RESISTANCE. After pumping ~70% in ONE weekly candle from near our accumulation zone, all eyes are now on $1.55. Above it = potential next bull leg 🚀 Below it = retracement/re-accumulation zone. I'm still watching $5–$10 long term, but wouldn't… pic.twitter.com/ePGHhuqp2X

The $1.54 daily high sat just below that $1.55 level, making it a clear short-term test. Separately, XRP Update reported that buyers defended the $1.45 zone across several exchanges.

ETF Inflows Pick Up

U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $39.78 million in net inflows during the week of Aug. 17–21, the strongest weekly figure since May. Those products began trading in the United States in 2025, after the SEC approved a wave of applications, and their weekly flows are now tracked as a standard gauge of institutional demand for the token. Cumulative net inflows reached approximately $1.55 billion. Friday's flow data showed around $18 million, led by Bitwise, Grayscale, and Franklin.

Volumes in the Bitwise $XRP XRP ETF have really popped over the last 3 sessions. Over $80 million traded today, and over $60 mm each of the prior two days – each of which would have been its highest volume day since inception. pic.twitter.com/wcEQk9nNrD

The pickup followed a rough stretch earlier in August, when weekly inflows fell roughly 93% to just $1.01 million. Total net assets in XRP ETF products stood near $940 million.

Derivatives Activity Rises

CoinGlass data showed XRP futures open interest at $3.72 billion on Aug. 24. Futures volume over 24 hours reached $8.84 billion, while spot volume stood near $1.89 billion. The gap between futures and spot volume shows that leveraged activity was elevated. Elevated leverage can increase volatility around key resistance levels and raise liquidation risk if momentum stalls.

On-chain data added to the picture. Analyst Ali Charts noted that XRP active addresses surged 654.71%, jumping from 47,180 to 356,070. Ali Charts said this type of spike typically signals a sharp increase in network participation and is often accompanied by higher price volatility.

Ripple Holdings and Recent Developments

Ripple reported holding 37.66 billion XRP as of June 30, with 32.6 billion still in on-ledger escrow. The escrow program dates to 2017, when Ripple locked 55 billion XRP on the ledger to make supply entering the market more predictable. On Aug. 3, Ripple announced investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand transfer agency and collateral mobility services.

XRP remains below its January 2018 all-time high of $3.84. As of Aug. 24, price action centered on the $1.45–$1.55 range, with the next key development being how XRP reacts at the $1.55 resistance level. The next rounds of weekly ETF flow data, futures open interest, and active-address figures will show whether the surge in activity around the token extended beyond the rally week.
