XRP Holds $1.25 Support as ETF Inflows Return and Ripple Expands Institutional Products

XRP is trading near $1.34 on the Oct. 22 Binance daily chart, recovering from last week's selloff but remaining well below the late-September highs around $1.60. Buyers are defending the $1.25 support level, which sits inside a broader $1.20-$1.30 demand zone, as institutional money returns to U.S. XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and Ripple continues to roll out new institutional products.

The token opened the session near $1.365 and touched about $1.369 before slipping to roughly $1.337. It last changed hands near $1.344, down about 1.5% on the day.

The technical structure is weaker than it was in September. XRP has broken below the rising trendline — the series of higher lows that supported the rally from the August low near $1.00 — although buyers have so far held the larger horizontal support area.

Chart Levels Traders Are Watching

The key level on the chart is $1.2510. It sits inside a demand area around $1.20-$1.30, a price band where buying interest has repeatedly emerged. On the chart, the trendline break is a setback, but the bulls are still holding the floor. XRP needs to reclaim $1.40-$1.45 first, and a push through $1.50 would put the $1.55-$1.67 resistance zone in play.

Momentum remains cautious. The daily relative strength index (RSI), a momentum gauge, stands at 44.65 — below the neutral 50 mark but well above oversold territory. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator is still bearish, with the line near -0.0294 and the signal near -0.0262. Selling pressure has eased compared with last week, but there is no confirmed bullish reversal yet. The next signal to watch is a daily close above $1.40-$1.45.

Analyst account XRP Update said on X that XRP is bouncing as expected. The account noted that the $1.25-$1.30 zone held and that buyers are pushing toward $1.40, with $1.50 as the next target.

ETF Flows Turn Positive

Institutional flows have improved this week. U.S. XRP products saw about 708,300 XRP of net inflows on Oct. 19, followed by about 199,600 XRP of outflows on Oct. 20. That leaves the week positive by roughly 508,700 XRP, worth about $649,000. Because net flows record actual fund purchases and redemptions rather than trading sentiment, they offer one of the most direct weekly reads on how institutional demand is shifting.

The recovery in flows contrasts with the prior week, when about 1.85 million XRP — worth roughly $2.38 million — left the funds during the Oct. 12-16 period. Combined holdings are close to 1.19 billion XRP, or about $1.57 billion. One spot-ETF tracker puts cumulative net inflows near $1.81 billion. The average entry price across five spot funds is about $1.72, above the current price, leaving the average fund position below its cost basis.

Spot ETFs allow traditional investors to gain exposure to XRP through brokerage accounts without holding the token directly.

Ripple Keeps Building

Ripple has kept expanding its institutional business alongside the market activity. This week, Ripple Prime added 24/7 perpetual exposure to equities and other real-world assets, with RLUSD — Ripple's U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin — accepted as collateral. That follows October deals with DriveWealth and Korea's Meritz Securities. Standard Chartered also added support for RLUSD custody.

A package of XRP Ledger bug fixes originally set for this week has been pushed to November. Validator support temporarily fell below the required threshold — XRP Ledger amendments only activate once a supermajority of validators signal support. The fixes cover the proposed lending system and token permissions, and the rescheduled November release is now the timeline to watch on the protocol side.

On-chain activity remains steady. The network processed about 4.19 million transactions in 24 hours, with roughly 98,845 active addresses and 3,536 new ones. XRPL DeFi TVL is near $41.1 million, and daily DEX volume is about $7.4 million. XRPL stablecoin supply has fallen about 7% over seven days to roughly $1.05 billion. 22.60 billion XRP sits in identified exchange wallets.

Key Levels Ahead

With XRP holding above its key support, attention remains on the levels on either side of the market. On the downside, $1.30 is the first level to hold, and a daily break below $1.2510 could open a move toward $1.15-$1.20. To the upside, traders are watching for a daily close above $1.40-$1.45.
